Ooh, those Orcs look fantastic! If they're not too far into 'heroic' proportions they'd make great Gundabad Orcs for LotR!

Thanks for the nice names! Some nice ones on the Facebook page too I must admit
We would like to keep this going for at least one day, so we have more options to choose from, but it will be very hard with all this cool entries!
I would like to make Gino (our son) choose, but he's just 2 months old, definitely noth enough

He could probably choose, but I'm not sure how much logic will be behind it other than "which name was Dad pointing to last"

Ok this was not easy, we had some nice names here and on Facebook, and in the end looks like his Orc Hero likes "Gronnlukk, the Height-Trimmer", from Costin Becheanu (from facebook)!

Actually a work in progress of a multypart normal orc Heavy infantry. Design may change (even completely), we are still in the creative process

I love the detail but the pose looks a bit awkward.

Very nice!

Hurry up and launch already!

Just kidding of course - launch when you're 100% ready.

And giving me time to replenish the gaming budget will help me out too!

Yeah I think it would be better to have at least a few 3d prints and test casts made before launching, and to build up as much of a following as possible! But I understand the enthusiasm

Will definitely be backing, personally! It's awesome that you're using Facebook as that is a great way to get the word out (the best way to directly do so I found, although folks telling others about it is obviously huge, too).

Hopefully you guy's experience with Ragingheroes will prove invaluable in the later stages as well.

I think the pose is fine since I'm under the impression that the ball and socket system is in play (it says balljoint).

Is that crown a separate bit? That would be a neat touch but I'd probably not use it if it's optional.

FYI 3D prints already exist for some of this work, and some of their recent work. See pages 2-4 of this thread for photos. http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/618841.page

Thanks for the comments.
That will be one of the rare orcs with long beards, signal that's older than the others. We want to have variety of ages between them of courses, but most of them will be without beard to be different from the dwarves. Everything about the orcs may change, as I said we still are in the creative phase, even if in 3d.

The older prints we made in past were Shapeways tests of the older models. Now the dwarves had been updated with deeper details and some other stuffs, aswell the prints from Shapeways will be not half as good as the new print+casts we will make.
Other than that, we can't give you more news because of our new partnership

We were not really happy with the Orc design, for this reason we decided to restyle them from scratch. There should be at least two kind of orcs: the heavy armored ones and the Berserkers. In order to find the right style for them, we decided to currently stop working on the heavy orcs and focus on the berserkers, and we ended up with these two big guys!
We will redesign the heavy orcs too, using this proportion and new attitude.

come and find us at https://www.facebook.com/ArtisanGuildMiniatures to comment and critique this new design!

Okay seriously - that is jaw-dropping!

I was interested before, but that model is just insane. The joints look great, the sculpt is amazing and dynamic... I mean seriously! If there is any chance you could get that model cast up as a sample for your campaign, I think it would sell people instantly!

Actually, I know a low-volume resin caster that might be able to give you a few copies for demonstrating how the render comes out as a cast (although you would have to supply a 3d print to them as a master, of course, which they could return along with the initial casts). If you were to get one of these cast and professionally painted, I think it would really solidify interest!

Anyway, I am so stoked for this model, so let me know if you want me to pass along any contacts / etc

Those do look really fantastic! I am having visions of painting them up in skin tones and using them as stand ins for the Tharn Ravager Whitemanes. Which I never run in any army lists, but I want to own stand ins for now

The only criticism I have is the ax heads. The general shape is nice, but I am confused as to how they work. There appears to be two pieces of metal there in the first, and three in the second. How are they held together? I don't see any rivets, and welding seems unlikely. The big blade bit seems to have sockets that the shaft is driven through, so that makes sense, but the other parts are just sort of there. Also, the leather straps inside the metal bits around the shaft. Does that hold something in place that I just can't see? Anyway, the ax heads are busy and confusing in how they work.
The aesthetic difference between the ax heads and the armor springs out at me now too. You have relatively high tech armor plates which look like they are made of iron/steel along with a very primitive, crude iron/steel ax head. Is there a story behind that, like the axes are made from some other material that is hard to work but very strong or something? Both parts look good in their style, just that together it looks a little odd. Like putting wooden spoke wheels on a Toyota Corolla.

The new versions are rather superb the bulkier body and heavy armour works well, as for the axe weapons I like the look and feel but do see what was mentioned concerning how the metal sections fit together but no real issue.

Just a thought about the previous Orc sculpts have you considered altering them slightly to creat another army ?

Looking at the page before of the 5 torsos and heads pic I felt they had a more vampire feel to them, all you need do is reduce the teeth as they had a more human theme to them, also the armour kind of had a undead vibe about them.

Just a thought as I really liked the early work pic of those, especially before you added the hair to them.

Honestly, I prefer the original orcs stylistically (this new one is a bit too DnD/Warhamer, not enough LotR for my tastes), but that's still a pretty fantastic sculpt.

I really prefer the new ones, but it's true you could alter the original sculpts (perhaps changing out the head completely) and you've got another set of models . Maybe shrink it down and use as goblins, again with a head change?

I would love to know when we can buy these new ones! I definitely plan to snag both of them

Thanks for the nice comments!

The old Orc model will be used of course to make the new orc heavy armored warrior. We have no plan for vampires and goblins as we really want to focus to the current sculpts.

Hello guys,
due to the huge amount of work outside of Artisan Guild Miniatures, we had not the chance to update our project, but things are going to change soon. This Dwarven Hero, Gino Ogresmasher, is an old veteran ranger and master crafter. His huge rock fist weapon (used also as Shield) and his heavy Axe are sculpted and forged by himself. He comes with an extra arm using another first weapon. Many other characters like heroes and troopers from both factions are in concept and sculpting phase right now, we hope you will like them once the sculpts are done!
