So after a lot of tinkering and a coat of green primer I have him ready for a little paint. Meanwhile here in BC we have -20C, so I'll be inside for the next few days until it warms up a little ... Anyhow, 'Look to me brothers for we will prevail!!!'

The 'roller' for the axe's shaft was actually one of those brass square gratings from the GW basing kit cut in half and then used to roll GS wrapped around a straightened paper clip.

Righty - finally a bit of proper prgress. First paint of 2016! Magos is built cured and finally primed. The painting is a go. 5 days to get him finished eh?!!

Rest assured I shall at least finish! The armour is done, the banner is getting there and the base is mediocre but finished, It's just the power sword that's giving me trouble; for some reason, the silver came right off as soon as I applied a wash last night.... and that's two and a half weeks since the silver was applied. No idea what's going on there.... I blame witchcraft...

I'm changing tack, going for a slightly different effect that will hopefully work.

Gah!!! witchcraft! it's gotta be witchcraft! throw it in the well and see if it floats.....

Done for the night. 3 days to go. Thankfully getting a lot of paint time in these past few days. Gotta love the hols Wee wip for the day that's in it

Banging my head on the desk trying to build this guy. Even if I don't finish, it's worth trying.
Dry placing is about 90% of this build. Very irritating.

I tried a few new techniques and finally learned to thin my paints, with good results

Why you ask, Two-Dogs?

It's actually worse if I turn it slightly. I've had that glass since I was a child, and never noticed until recently.

Ended up taking the winged decals off the cloak until I get a fixing solution. Sadly far too big to manage with water alone.

Finally all finished up. I spoilered the final pics as they are kinda big. This guy was a dream to do from start to finish. Well.....painting his robes through all the mechandrites was a little tricky but still.......
