No one lives in the Nether from memory as well. Another drawback is you can't set your spawn as beds will blow up in the Nether so I'd say try to find somewhere out of the way of the tunnels, but close to spawn so if you do die you can get back quickly.

Also a problem with the Nether is that Zombie Pigmen will spawn inside your rooms/buildings. They're not hostile, but they're a tremendous nuisance.

In the act of getting banned from the MC server, you gave up all rights to anything on the MC server, especially in Suburbia, where I am mayor (Darkinnit can feel free to contradict me on things outside of Suburbia if he wants). Now, I would discourage people from actively attacking you and mocking you, just because it's rude and that's not the atmosphere I want. But I also don't want them to have to put up with being antagonized, either.

Looks like a floating island. I also remember someone complaining about that small cobble shack on the hill east of it, may be their island.

@Mel, Tbh I kinda wondered that aswell. After turning on the player checkbox it shows sniper_dan as being on it so maybe he own it? Unsure though.

Anyone know if someone has claim to the top of this ridge? It looks like no ones been around here in a long time, and I've started a house on top a few hours ago. Not sure how often the map updates, but when it does, you won't be able to miss it. It's ugly as sin, but it's mainly just the framework out of wood right now...

Half the reason I had it zoomed out that much.

Is a cool cliff, but I haven't the will to build on it.

Slightly less cool, but over closer to the map's edge with a tiny pocket of jungle in amongst the mountains.

Gonna make a mansion with a garden in one corner (a more traditional one-- flowers and a fountain, a nice path, etc), and the house takes up the other three spots.

I try to update the map every two days or so (although I did just update it on both Saturday and Sunday). I post an update on Twitter when the map has been updated (so as not to spam the thread here - the WWW button below links to my Twitter thingamajig).

Glad to see the map is proving useful. I'm currently testing some methods for reducing the time it takes to update the map, if I get a significant improvement I might increase the radius of the map a little further (although probably still not far enough to show your place Mel!).

THat's a fairly good distance away, IMO considering ti's little more than a dirt and cobble hut, but I guess YMMV.

Indeed, I think it's also easily considered abandoned, as there are no players near there and also no spawn locations/beds there. Unless someone claims it otherwise.

It does look like is has a mine off to the west and a farm close by as well. However like you said when you zoom all the way out people are pretty far from it.

Hmm, you mean the low dirt structure? Whoever was there hung around long enough for the crops to grow, but didn't hang around for long enough for the grass to spread to the roof of the dirt structure... :-) (unless that ledge behind it is not in contact with it)

Yeh the one to the left appears to have a staircase at the lower left corner of it probably leading underground. But, it does look pretty abandoned.
