I also try to take the weapons from her as she doesnt have to be on gaurd when i am gauring her.

you touch her hand and shes instantly awake, ready to attack you but she sees who you are and stops

**The Bringer**

Ranun turns to his comrades and says, "Let's go see what that may be" - with a smile on his face - taking out his mace as he does so.

(Btw marta, what kind of "magical weapons" did we take off the Dragorans?)

they are magical handswords
they have defensive enchantments that when wielded to the exclusion of all else almost completely protect the wielder from magic

the rumbling gets louder as the day wears on, you notice strange differences about the area, the animals usually abundant have fled and many of the trees seem to be shying back from the roadside

**The Bringer**

We will press on, and see what foul things await us.

**Tyranic Marta**

You come to literally a wall of stone, it streaches up into the horizon in stepped layers and terminates about 150 metres up in a cupola the stone is mossy and old and strange pictograms can be seen on its surfacce, directly ahead is a gaping stone door set into the rock about 3 layers up, the stairs leading to it look old but servicable

Morning sunshine. I smile you can give those to me for i am gaurding you now. I take the weapons. You can now sleep a little better. And i think that will be a little comfortable.

**RaptorsTalon**

I lead the party towards the wall, raising my staff as I do. It seems strange that the animals have left, and the air seems colder than usual.

I walk up to the wall, and brush some of the green moss off the surface. I begin to study the pictograms, seeing if they mean anything to me. After a while, I call Darath over to see what he makes of them...

**Tyranic Marta**

(noccy) She smiles at you, "will you stay for a while?"

(Tallon) the pictograms are fairly plain, they look like warriors fighting with aancient beasts and monsters

**RaptorsTalon**

I wonder what they could mean and if they warn of what is inside/on the other side (I don't know if it is enclosed) of the wall. I look over the wall with my witch sight to see if I can find any clues...

the witch sight reveals that the pictograms were scoured on with magic but other than that reveal nothing

**RaptorsTalon**

Made by magic, I think to myself. It must have been someone quite powerful that did this.

I look over the wall a while longer before leading the group up to the door. What ever is behind this wall, it must be powerful and powerful things often guard treasure. I try to open the door...

If openable: I lead by group through the door, raising my staff and dagger.

If un-openable: I motion to Rarun to batter the door down.

I lead my party throught the door way and investigate what is inside...

**Tyranic Marta**

Before you is a long stone corridor, along each side are plinths set into the wall, atop each stand a stone statue depicting one of the warriors from the wall, the end of the corridor can be seen flickering lights

**RaptorsTalon**

The group go to draw their weapons, but I signal for them to put them away. I raise my staff and cast weak form of blaze, causing my staff to act much like a torch.

I walk along the corridor, using my witch sight to check for magical presence...

none appears to exist

**RaptorsTalon**

I walk further along the corridor, continualy checking for traps, and eventualy reach the door. I walk inside to investigate the lights I had seen...

You walk out into a brightly lit room, huge and circular, the outer wall has more plinths in its resscesses and then there is a chasm which you cant see to the bottom of, the short walkway that is directly infront of the door leads to a platform suspended above the chasm, the platform is huge and round, and a hexagon is inscribed in it and at each of the points there is a rectangular groove. at the end of the platform there is a massive statue of a dog headed daemon with six arms each arm holds a sword. the swords are held out to the sides in a classic pose.

in the center of the platform and set into the ground is a flat transulcent pane of glass, which after a quick scan you can tell is invulnerable, inside the glass a pair of greygold gauntlets can be seen on a plinth. the roof of the chamber is high above and at its peak is anouther glass panel which has a golden sphere of light suspended above it, which flickers as if on fire. this is the source of the considerable light in the room.

I extinguish my torch and use witch sight to check for traps and artifacts

I examine the Dog Statue, searching for a meaning or representation.

I also examine the center of the room, and the rectangular groves. I assume that inserting some sort of key into the groves would allow access to the gloves.

I begin thinking about how I would retrive them...

the dog statue has two powerful legs that are crossed beneath it, its head is bowed and two ruby eyes wink out from overhanging brows. The entire thing is very well wrought and about 25 metres high the swords however are all held at a height where even you could touch the hilts, not that you would bother considering the stone blades would probably weigh more than you could ever hope to lift.

as far as you know there are no traps or magical areas in the room.

The grooves have images around them, more pictograms, they appear to be drops of blood which flow from the top of the grooves to the bottom, upon furthur inspection the entire floor of the platform is slanted slightly towards the glass panel itself, but not enough for it to hinder movement, the inclination is extremely slight but it is indeed still there.

around the panel there are the images of crossed swords in six places around the rim and set directly into the center of the panel is a startling representation of the golden orb above.

I assume that this room is some sort of temple, and that a blood scarifice is required to open the shield.

I ask Darath if he has any blood, and he looks into his potions bag.

While he is doing this, I search for other ways of opening the shield. (I assume it isn't magical) This must have been wrought by a powerful being I think...

**Tyranic Marta**

(its a pane of glass magically shielded)

he comes up with the blood and you drip a few spots on each groove, the grooze glow red and massive clanking sounds can be heard above, you look up and the massive fiery glode has descended through the gap where the pane of glass had been a moment ago, where it is now you hae no idea, but whats more worrying is the hundreds of statues surrounding the walls are shuffling their shoulders and drawing massive stone swords the height of a grown man

We quickly arm ourselves, and make sure we all have our enchanted dragoran swords on us, even if we aren't using them, for magical protection.

I raise my staff and activate my protective jewle. We wait for the statues to make the first move, they may still be oblivious to us, or even freindly!

However, we are ready for a fight if they were to attack...

**Tyranic Marta**

the statues are far from fiendly, as they become fully mobile they begin to rush towards the walkway to the platform, massive strides on thier long legs eating up the distance, you look back at the dog statue and mecifully its still in its place, however you notice that its swords have been turned in its hands so that they are facing downwards

**RaptorsTalon**

I wonder what this change of postion in the statue means, but have little time to think about it.

I turn to the advancing warriors and begin casting. I cast blaze and ice flare, trying to stop them. Bright lights burst forth from my staff and fly towards the statues. My staff spins and whirls around me as I trun to face, and cast on, each of the advancing warriors.

Darath casts Rapid Growth, surrounding the foes in thick, thorny vines. His staff glows green, as he casts a healing aura around the party. He continues to cast and heal as they advance.

Orac loads arrows into his bow, hoping to be able to do something to these stone monstrocities.

(I hope this is OK)
I signal to Rarun to smash the statues. He brings his mace down with force that only a saytar could supply. It thunders through the air and smashes into the side of one of the warriors.

Raora loads enchanted bolts into his cross bow and fires on the warriors. I signal to him to throw explosives down the entrance corridor, where several of the warriors are advancing from.

During the fight, I always keep my eye out for anything that has been revealed during combat. I use my witch sight to try and find the source of the power, animating the statues...

I suddenly think, what if this change of the swords postion is a sign, what if we have to use the swords to prove ourselves worthey of the treasure. As I cast, I move closer to the dog statue and attempt to take one of the swords from it's grip...

**Tyranic Marta**

ok first things first its blindingly obvious what is animating the statues the massive fiery orb is emanating massive arcs of amgical energy which you soon tap into to augment your powers,

the fight however is a different story

almost everything you throw at the statues bounces off, the exceptions to the rule are your magic and ranuns mace, you quickly get Darath to tap into the energies of the shpere as well which allows him to damamge the statues but the archer and the marine qquickly find themselfs redundant without magical aid

I continue to fight, boosted by the power of the orb. Now, as well as my normal spells, I am able to channle some of the orbs power into the weapons of my freinds.

I feel the sword to heavy to pick up and decide to ignore it. We continue to fight against the statues and, one by one, we manage to knock them down.

Stone dust fills the room, and shards of broken rock fly around, our armour and enchantments protect us from these small pieces though.

I try to use my new magical might to sever the links between the orb and the statues...

BTW: What did the explosives do?
