Yeah, I know, they changed the output of the /list command so now that's broken till I get around to fixing it. I'll see what I can do. Automatically Appended Next Post: Also, just realised the server auto-restart script keeps thinking the server is down (even though it's not) and so restarts it. Lots to fix. Okay, so I've written most of my book, "the guide to dakkacraft" (yeah, name needs work).
According to my calculations, I have about 2 pages left before I hit the limit, so I was wondering if there was anything I've missed, or any funny stories you might have of your time on the server.
basically, here's what I've covered:
The sanctuary

wolf's pyramid

JB: I like the concept of a free Shrike roaming through the treetops of the jungle. I'm not sure that I like the idea of a real Shrike sitting on my couch eating my Skittles.

aha yeah, I really wish I could go into further detail, but only the oldies (those who joined april/early may) will actually want to read about it... though I will mention that ^^ it was such a movie scene- all the guys in one place mourning the loss of another, as soon as it stops burning, the sad music starts playing and it starts raining at night and I completely forgot about clucky... I'll mention him, but I'll write about him in full in his own book, with help from Iustis  Automatically Appended Next Post: okay, so if anyone has a decent amount of knowledge about any of the things I've talked about, PM me and I'll send you what I have for you to proof-read and edit if needed.

What about when the Nether was overrun with Mushrooms?
Also, a general "New Person's Guide" to Dakkacraft should include how and why we use the Nether, with some basics such as which portals are used as hubs, the main overland areas and clusters, etc.

eh, this is more a tour guide, telling you about the landmarks/must-see buildings, rather than a guide to minecraft in general. That's a job for the wiki.
also, the "which portals are hubs" really depends which portals you use- the portals I mostly pass and navigate by are 0,0, the manor and absol's.

It still exists. Next to the museum if you want to go and visit.

JamesGurney's portal is also within range of the glitchiness around 0,0 and so I've barricaded that one too.
Others don't seem to be glitching (the 0,0 one does it every time), but Wyrmalla found one that does it "sometimes" out at -1400 2000.
As a base rule, don't take anything valuable into a portal that you haven't tested since 1.3.1
Use Enderchests for transporting items if you can.
There is no way to escape the portals when they decide to kill you (I even died in creative mode from falling into the void - flying didn't work).
It sounds grim, but the other bug fixes and new features far outweigh a few unusable portals. Most portals seem stable.

When the 0,0 portal glitched for me, the world hole around the portal extended up to the suburbia wall.
I think as long any new portal is inside suburbia, it should be fine, but I'd recommend you make it on the opposite side just to be sure.
Also link the portal by entering the nether from another portal *before* using the new portal, or it may send you to the 0,0 nether portal where you will either die or be trapped in bedrock  Automatically Appended Next Post: As well as the Disco portal, another nearby portal is here.

I walk into the enclosure to find several pieces of Mycelium and Dirt at the door, followed by various holes and imperfections in the floor and one single fething Mooshroom!
