I might be the only one who thinks this, but while the Broncos' spending spree has been impressive, I'm not convinced that it puts them over the hump.
Nah, I agree. T.J Ward is a good signing and could make a difference for the defense but Talib and DeMarcus Ware are potentially very unreliable. I'm not convinced a few big name players on the other side of the ball from the Mann will help when they come up against the NFC. It might help against the Patriots, but then they just bought Revis Island.
Broncos are paying out far too much on Ware and Talib (who consistently gets injured) on the basis they must win before Manning retires. Besides one player can't shore up the entire secondary: if I had to chose one guy to do it then my choice would be Revis.
Chicago on the other hand is happily sitting with dead cap space this year but over the next couple of years they'll have a lot more cap space to play with (Especially when we cut McClellin) with a lot of starters under contract as well (Except the few on play & prove 1 Year deals)

Wow Red.... I counted 8 hurries, 3 tips and one bad snap.. but yeah it was ALL his fault....
Not the Center, not the O-line, not the Receivers, Not the TEs or RBs missing blocks
Nope.
It was All Weeden.......
Maybe if I win the lottery I will buy them and move them to OKC.... thus Cleveland can get over the pain.....

YES!!! Patriots sign Brandon browner to a 3 year deal today. Our secondary is shaping up on paper to be one of the best in the league. The AFC arms race continues between the patriots and bronco's. If healthy this year unlike last, I can't see anyone including the bronc's in the AFC standing up to the patriots. Now getting past whoever the NFC sends out is whole nother story.
Hopefully the pats solidify the lines in the draft and stay healthy.

Whitner over Ward was less of an improvement, and more of a changing skill sets. Ward is a good Safety, but he's more of a linebacker than a coverage guy, while Whitner is the opposite (though he can still do what Ward did pretty well). I'm okay with the Browns signings so far (Whitner, Dansby, Trufant and technically Hawkins from Cincinatti, but we have to wait until Tuesday), and I'm pretty excited for the current rumor though. Last night Ben Tate, RB from Texas tweeted a photo of Tower City Center lit up in the night sky, he's apparently been here the past two days. And with the QB-centric league we have, a good backup running back that wants to become the #1, this is probably his best bet at making the most money he'll make in his career. So I'm kind of excited for that.

Some great moments there, my favorite is when he dove for the line of scrimmage and had a clear field to actually make the first down. Also, apparently there's a report that the Cowboys want Weeden, apparently they collect bad QBs there.

If you win the lottery and move them to OKC, you will be just as bad as Art Modell. Cleveland has already gone through the gakky-ness that is losing our football team once, and Weeden's gone, no reason to pack up the franchise, especially since there are enough idiots to pay to see bad football live to make it profitable.
Edit: Ben Tate is now a RB for the Cleveland Browns

Again, Brandon Weeden might have been a big star in college and put up huge numbers in that Air Raid offense out there in Oklahoma. But he's not a good NFL QB now, and given that he's like 30(!), there doesn't look to be a lot of ceiling. Besides, that o-line had TWO Pro Bowlers on it. It may have had its issues, but it wasn't the worst line in the league.
The issue is more that Weeden isn't any good under pressure -- which is something you might expect from a 30 year old guy who played in a "one, two, get rid of it" offense.
I think Nick Foles is the only Air Raid offense quarterback who's done spit in the NFL.
Still trying to figure out how THAT Center got a Pro Bowl bid.. my guess is everybody else opted out.
As for Weeden, yeah he is 30 but he doesn't have half a dozen years worth of injuries from getting creamed behind an O-line that can't stop a pass rush.
