Can anyone illuminate me as to why the VAST majority of people that are into 40k like listening to heavy metal/rock? Not that there is anything wrong with that but there is definitely a pattern somewhere in there that I can't explain. I myself am into electro and techy stuff. A few of the artist that I LOVE are: Richie Hawtin, Boards of Canada, Trentemoller and Timo Maas, Now they really do rock on a whole new level and have a fresh and original feel to them.

I tend to think that rock music sounds banal and uninspiring with no soul to it whatsoever but thats only my opinion. It's obviously doing something right for SO many people to be into it but why are all those people into wargaming? Where are all you techies out there? Surely I'm not some pioneer thats the first of my kind to come into the GW fold?

HELP!! I'm feeling a tad vulnerable and surrounded by rockers I'm not going to have to grow my hair past my shoulders and wear all black in order to fit in am I?

Rock, and likewise music, is made by actual people playing actual instruments. Techno is just a guy punching buttons on a keyboard or something. A rock (or likewise genre) artist can really put a lot of energy into a song, especially when played live. Whereas a DJ just flips through his songs, mixes them and presses random buttons to generate a bleeping sound.

Rock (and likewise genres) do have soul, and most of the times try to explain something to you. There are a lot of protest songs out there, songs about feelings (I'm not getting mushy, mind you)

You know, I can keep going on like that, but let me tell you the essence of it. Rock ( and likewise genres) rocks.

And while we are at it:

Soulless you say? Emotionless you say? Nay!
