Hi all. I started doing some conversions for Imperial Guard using Cadian and Catachan parts. The first is a conversion 'kit' I am working on for my Cadians to make them more like the folks in Jin Roh. I will eventually mold and cast this when I am finished with all of the detail parts. This will save much sanity... The next is a Kill Team I am making based on the movie Predator. First for that is Dutch (Schwarzenegger's character) Here is the next progress: Here is the latest for Dutch: Here are a few of the weapon conversions that I am doing for the Team: This is the beginnings of the Plasma Gun for Mack. He had a light machine gun in the movie, and I wanted to use a Storm Bolter, but to fit it into the rules I needed to pick something else. It is based off of the Catachan Flamer and the end of an old Plasma Pistol. I still need to sculpt on the cooling ribs. Comments, questions, and criticism welcome. I will update as I am able to. Thanks. ~Eric Edit: Hmmm.... Not sure why the thumbnails are not showing up. Any ideas? Edit2: Got the images to work.

The eye lenses look a little bug eyed. But considering that is sculpted that is really good. I did think Jinroh Straight away, so you hit the right note.
Get to Da Choppah!!!
The Dutch conversion really is excellent. I like it alot..

Posted By Shaman on 01/18/2007 1:46 PM The eye lenses look a little bug eyed. But considering that is sculpted that is really good. I did think Jinroh Straight away, so you hit the right note. They will actually get pared back a little. I thought they were a little too buggy as well. Glad you could tell what they were though. It is kinda hard to get the right feel without being a total copy. Get to Da Choppah!!! The Dutch conversion really is excellent. I like it alot. Thanks much. Making some progress on the face now. Hopefully I will have him finished early next week. Old painless is a plasma gun.. the Irony.. "It wont overheat on me, Imma Goddamn Sexual Tyrannosaur!" *spits Actually, Ol' Painless is going to be the Heavy Bolter. That quote is damn funny though. I plan to model that character with a bulging cheek like he has through most of the movie (at least the bit while the character is still alive). Glaive Company CO & Hauler: Thanks. I am glad you like the sculpting. Komissar: Never seen the FN SCAR. I will have to go look now. ~Eric Edit: Any ideas on what I should put on Blaine's (Ol' Painless guy) T-Shirt would be awesome. It is a black MTV T-Shirt in the movie. I was thinking about making it an M (inistorum) TV shirt somehow.

I find the cadian conversion a bit scary. Not a fan. Too bug-eyed and weedy. Love the GS on the Predator style model. Keep that up. ender502

Ok, last update for Dutch before paint. Pic is not as good as I'd like. Trying to get a portrait-style likeness was taking waaaaay too long, so I settled for a general impression. Let me know what you think. ~Eric

Do not use the CLEAR dice!
Dear Whiny Space Marine Players, you get 3+ armor saves on all your troops (save scouts), Assault cannons, a huge assortment of vehicles and weapons, arguably one of the best if not THE best tank in the game, funny helmets, and a partrige in a pear tree.
suck it up, space marines. You're the emperor's chosen superhuman warriors. stop whining like a guardsmen and take it like a superman! |

Ok, quick update on Dutch. He is finished now except for another coating of Matte Varnish. I took some quick pictures just to get another update out. I will hopefully get some more done in the next day or two with good lighting. I went with a simple color scheme for him to try to get close to the film but not match exactly. Green undershirt and dark green vest, green and black camo pants, and dark green boots with lighter green shinguards. ~Eric

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling, which thinks that nothing is worth war, is much worse. The person, who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

Dutch looks very nice indeed nice flesh, greens and solid conversion work. The head for your standard trooper looks a little soft but I'll reserve final judgement until you start slapping paint around on him Proper shades and highlights will go a long way to making those jin ro guys look very nice indeed. Continue onwards please!

My men aah not expendable. And I don't do dis kind of verk. Poncho gets the grenade launcher, Hawkins the vox caster, and of course Billy's has gotta have his machete. I think you should just give Mac a heavy stubber or something. Who cares if these load outs aren't super-effective or totally legal? If you have to, use "counts as" or whatever. And Ol' Painless has GOT to be an assault cannon. I'd totally let you use the assault cannon rules too. C'mon it's Ol' Painless! Rules be damned, it's just too awesome to not allow. I'd even let Blaine have Feel No Pain. Is there a Gary Busey Ordo Xenos Inquisitor in the works? That would be SWEET!!!
