Pick a faction and get the starter box and the faction book.

I've just got the Legion of Everblight faction book and a warlock for them the other day. Reading through i think That Epic Thagrosh (the model you've got) isn't all that bad to start with tbh. What people say about him is that he hits hard but if he doesn't kill he's rather squishy.

So tbh roll with eThagrosh, have a look on BattleCollege.com (its a wiki) and get the faction book.

This, the starter box is nearly always a great buy (you might also want to consider the 2 player battlebox if you can find someone who wants the circle stuff). pLylyth has some really nasty tricks, the shredders are insanely good for a mere two points, and the Carnivean is just plain scary. Using those beasts with pLylyth gives you a 13pt list and eThragosh a 16pt one (serioulsy only 3 warbeast points?). Either list is a decent enough size for starter games. Plus due to the way Warmahordes works by simply swapping the warlock/caster you usually end up with an army that plays completely differently. Even if everything else is the same, so having 2 warlocks right from the start can only be a good thing in my opinion.

eThagrosh is only +3 warbeast points cos he's basically a beast himself with 20 wounds.

i think alot of people take him with shredder spam, also the Harrier and Stinger are 2 points a piece.

Oh and if you do get the staeter set, get the battlegroup not the warpack. The battlegroup is plastic and the warpack is metal, unless you want metal then get the warpack lol.

I'd be interested in the Circle stuff if you get the 2 player box, wish to try out Hordes at some point.

Hey Stormwell, i asked over on the PP forum about being able to have the same upkeep spell on every model in your battlegroup, i turn out that you can't, here's what they said:

"Being able to start with upkeeps active does not change the normal Upkeep rules, of 1 Upkeep per Model, and one version of the Upkeep active at a time."

oh and i found you can boost magic attack and damage rolls with fury or focus.

Surprising how much you learn from one game.

Kill team was indeeed entertaining and congrats to the winner it was well deserved.

Unfortunately I do have some bad news to post. Dark Heresy will not go ahead next week. Until further notice it is on hiatus. Over the past few months I have found myself losing interest in he game to the extent that it feels like a chore to organise everything. I think the last session I actually enjoyed was the Titan reveal. In addition to that I have got sick and tired of the bickering and inability of you lot to let me finish describing things properly. Finally we've also lost a player due to the bickering and that really was the final straw for me.

I may simply need a few months rest from running it but we'll only find that out over time. Sorry to disappoint you all but I simply don't want to act as a GM for the forseable future.

Right, the 'one version of an upkeep' thing will require me to rethink how I do my spells in future.

But thanks for that.

@Nick

That's a shame man, not going to pretend I'm not disappointed but I can understand. Please can I have my character sheets, I'd like keep Pontius alive.

@ anyone else, I'll be bringing 1000 points of guard.

@ Formosa, I can probably make a count as gang using guard if you don't mind helping me learn/practice the necromunda mechanics.

Definitely up for a game of DZC on Monday.

Not sure if I'm free this weekend Duane. I'll let you know either way later this week.

I was planning on giving everyone their character sheets. Anyone who wants their sheet will be able to pick it up from me on Monday.

Funny you should mention necromunda, me and spanky were talking about doing a gang for it, so if you also join in... fun times for all !
