Wooo aaaa!  I was right- there is an assault cannon arm for Death Wing termies!  That means I can buy a box of these and give a second AC to my termies!

www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php

Scroll down.. I'm pretty psyched- these sprues look like they're fun.  I still wish I had some Nelson orks instead, but this'll have to do for now :p

I forgot to mention some other highlights:

A pair of termie legs= extra termie with the 6th body that comes on the termie sprue.

Shame about no robed termie bodies, but I didnt figure any of those showing up, as no prerelease pics of those were shown.

The new assault cannon is sweet. The eagle head (#1) is the nicest bit of jink. The feathers (#2), of course, have to go but thats a minor "clip/file" and done.

I wonder what that thing on the support arm underneath the asscan barrel (#3) is?

The termie sarge sword is very nice as well.

Hopefully GW wont take away the second termie assault cannon by the time the new SM redux comes out. It would make baby jesus cry. Especially after this is made available.

It still boggles the mind how a second assault cannon is made available and the DW cannot take two. I am sure this was made prior to the "refinement" of the DW rules, but it still clearly lacks logic.

I'm thinking those feathery bitz could make some nice iconography from my Emperor's Children. Shame that there are no claws in there :-)

Odd that there is a Terminator AC on the marine sprue....

Thats the deathwing sprue, with stuff for power armour and termie armour deathwingers.

If I noticed correctly, they have a Terminator Powerfist and a Terminator Power Weapon.

I think the real reason they have the Assault cannon on the Dark Angels sprue is that it allows you to easily upgrade a Terminator Assault kit with an Assault Cannon. The configuration most Dark Angels players will be fielding.

Doubt that.
Most DW people I know of planning on using one set of CC weapons max per squad. The tactical termies are still the best option around.

I am sure youre correct about the reasons though. But really, players who want to make sure the termies work as well as possible wont be using a whole lot of CC termies.

But for DA players who are just running a squad or two of termies, I am sure they might possibly load up more with CC weapons than a purely DW army would. Maybe.

I dont think there is a termie power fist though. It looks like a termie powersword, stormbolter and assault cannon. Along with an extra set of running termie legs. The powerfist looks to be for power armored marines.

The RW sprue also has a set of Dreadnaught greaves. They're just right of center at the top of the first RW sprue pic.

Correct.  The powerfist and mace (force weapon?) are attached to standard power armor shoulders.  The stormbolter, asscannon, and power sword are attached to terminator shoulders.

Just got some from GW to start playing around with. Unfortunately, while many cool ideas of how to use them are floating in my head, I haven't actually got beyond stage 1, where I just sit and drool on the sprues.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

the assault cannon is only there because of all the whining from the players who wanted 2 assault cannon in their terminator squads - someone at GW thought it would be funny to supply another cannon and simultaneously change the rules to stop it being used

Seriously though, saw the sprues in the flesh today and was pretty impressed - unexpected stuff like replacement dread leg armour is way cool. my only complaint is you don't get 5 DW shoulder pads...

My biggest problem is deciding whether to do a proper DW army or a DeffWing army of orks - either way, these sprues will come in handy

Some nice bits on there.

I wish GW had been releasing chapter specific kits since the start of 4th ed... say 1 every 3 months. By now most of the major founding chapters would be done and chaos would be on the way.

Pity I won't be using DAs..

I was hoping that the Robes would be sperate from the main body of the marines and their own sprew, to make converting easier. O well, still nice models.

???  How would they possibly pull something like that off?

Does anyone else think it odd that they put new tornado/typhoon plastic parts on the Ravenwing sprue?  Are they releasing a plastic tornado/typhoon for everone else or are we just supposed use the Ravenwing sprue?  Or keep using the metal ones?  Just seems a bit daft that they wouldn't just put them on a their own sprue or a re-cut landspeeder sprue or whatever.

Not really.  What's so odd about selling the land speeders with a ravenwing sprue inside?  They obviously had space on the ravenwing sprue to put these parts so they filled it up.  I sure as heck don't mind getting extra bits in a box

But then you're buying a "Ravenwing Land Speeder" instead of a "Land Speeder Tornado/Typhoon" - which is fine IF you are aware of the fact that the Ravenwing sprue gives you plastic Tornado/Typhoon parts.  But from a marketing perspective it is kind of dumb to "hide" the Tornado/Typhoon parts in the Ravenwing box.  The average SM player who wants to build a Tornado isn't going to scour the internet for box contents - they're just going to buy the Tornado box.  And when they pull the Ravenwing stuff off the shelves after the splash release then you'll only be able to get the sprue through direct sales anyway. :(

It does seem odd to put the plastic Tornado and Typhoon bits on a Dark Anglesspecific sprue. I thought they were just going to do a 'Land Speeder Sprue' that had all the bitz for Landspeeders on it, plus maby some non-Chapter specific bling, and then a ravenwing upgrade sprue.

And I don't think it'll go direct. It'll be in a Dark Angel Upgrade box, like the BT one.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Someone here bought the Dark angels box, I asked to swap one Veteran Dark angel for threre normal tacticals (I have spare). My reason. The Dark Angel veterans in robes plus the power weapon mace arm is practically indistinguishable from a regular chaplain.
