And I liked them.  Alot!  I tried about six or so of the colors and they went over black with very little effort.  I've preordered a set and should get them in April.  I can't wait!  I need them now.  Your local GW store should have some out for paint demos for you to try.

Here's a YouTube video of a P3 paint demo at Gencon (there's no sound so don't turn it up).  The Foundation Red (Malechite, I think) went on better than this.  That video is so awesome, though, that I might get some P3 paints as well.

A word on the pots:  I like them but...the lids need help. 

They are much the same kind of soft plastic as the old Citadel ones but have a different design.  The Citadel lids had the familiar "scoop" on the inside.  That scoop would rest on the bottles rim and keep the cap open while providing a handy place to dip your brush.  Sometimes the hing would break and you could set the lid on the table because the lid had a flat top.

The Foundation bottles have a 'slightly' rounded top and the "scoop" doesn't rest on the rim.  The hinge is also very floppy.  All of this makes for a different experience while painting.  I'm thinking of cutting the hinges off but the slightly rounded top might not be too stable.

The paints are great but actually using them might take some thought.

they snuck these out in the Battle for Skull pass paint sets. That was part of a test market for them. So if you can use a few extra gobbos and want to try these out pick up the Skull pass paint set with the small demo pots and see what you think.

It would have to. I'm a big fan of PP but it seems, judging solely by this video, that despite their claims to the contrary, P3 paints are no better than GW. The paint doesn't cover well at all.

 

As an aside, whoever that guy is, he's and incredibly sloppy painter. :(

vellejo makes empty dropper bottles why not transfer them into those if your concerned about the pots? Unless ya dont like the dopper bottels...

I'm sure the bottles will be fine.  I just have to figure a way to be comfortable with them.  Overall they're quite nice.  The Vallejo dropper bottles are a good idea, though.  Hmmm....must investigate.

The other answer is to not paint straight out of the bottles... Makes your paint dry out faster.

Yeah, that guy was being a bit sloppy at times, but it was only because he's at a sloppy stage of painting. There's no point in being ultra careful with your basecoat. Just get it on there with coverage and consistency.

It was nice to see him doing two brush wet blending, he was quite quick with it.

He was using pretty large brushes, which I think is another sign of a good (or at least fast) painter. The bigger the brush you can get away with using, the more paint you can hold, the fewer trips you need back to the palette, the faster you can work. Bigger brushes also produce a smoother, more consistent finish.

I have also seen these paints, and see no need to stop with the Vallejo's. They are pushing them hard in the US stores, but to be honest, once you add water to them (they are quite thick) they cover no better than Vallejo paints.
