Wait, what shipping increase?

The cost for Adam now vs. when it was originally projected to ship.

There's no increased costs for backers.

Oh. Not sure what the fuss is, then. I mean, it sucks for him and I agree that the huge delays have lost him good will, but how's that a "final straw"?

It's gonna be worth it, the long wait and the endless teasing, when you get that beautiful black box in the post, and you open it and angels sing in the background and you marvel at the macabre cyclopean beauty of all the beautifully disturbing things inside, meanwhile the angels get strangled by the tentacles of otherworldly shadowy beings and you start to hear the mad piping of the minions of an elder thing.

But maybe thats just me.

So many games, so little time.

So many models, even less time.

Screw it, Netflix and chill.

Oh yeah, certainly excited, but I would have been a hell of a lot more excited if it was coming anything remotely close to on time

Not ALL *now*, but that's where he's going. I don't believe he's committed to that, but it's not hard to see what he's doing when he's including KD:M items in his figures.

Not exactly, Spuralingcadaver. Adam switched international shipping to Priority only, so to ship a single model to Oz went from $20 to $44.

I don't mind the 3am rushes to the store, nor the exclusivity, but when shipping goes way past the price of the model, that's it for me.

I'm done buying new KD stuff. There's a lot of other nice stuff out there, and I'm graduating towards bigger scales, so I doubt I will miss KD very much.

Same here. I'll forget about it for a while, and then another update is released, and I'm back in all over again. It's been a long wait, sure, but once they arrive, these will easily be the best models in my collection.

with the most recent store releases overseas people no longer had a USPS first class (untracked) option which was about $14.50,

they could only pick the tracked service at about $45 which makes picking up a single mini for me in the UK pretty much not viable

this change does not seem to be because of changes in the USPS service/prices so is something KD has chosen to do, why we've not had any comment on yet, but presumably because he was having to 'replace' too much stuff that was undelivered, or maybe field too many 'it's not here yet' emails from those who don't understand that no tracking means no tracking........ I'm sure he didn't make the change to mess us poor international fans around, but it's still frustrating

He's still pretty spotty when it comes to that - I've bought a few of the recent additions (the new Knights, the saviors, etc.), and I don't think any came with KD: M game cards at all.

I think they'll be very good, don't get me wrong, but I think a lot of other companies have caught up to KD in regards to quality.

Arena Rex, Infamy, and Twizted come to mind immediately.

That's fair, especially with Arena Rex (always forget about that one). I admit I'm concerned about the future viability of KD. Poots has made some strange statements about distribution before. I'd hate to see them go to all this trouble only to fall apart after retail launch.

If he wants to be the head of a huge gaming company distribution is really going to be essential,

if he just wants to have fun bringing his vision to life, plus paying the bills for a reasonable lifestyle sticking to his principles and avoiding distribution is not really going to hurt him (the ebay re-sellers will handle that side for him anyway)

and once the plastic is there non-US buyers will have more to order than the 1 or 2 resin minis they don't have that appear in the shop when there's a restock thus making the shipping costs more palatable

if I'm spending the $25 then $45 shipping for a teeny tiny box is too painful, if I'm spending $250 on a mini or two plus a few game expansions it's much less painful and the actual bx will be bigger too

KD:M should ship to backers sometime Q3 this year, so I'd expect retail to open Q4.

Got my storm knight in. The body essentially comes in three main pieces, then like three sprues of little tiny smoke pieces.

I'm a bit scared to put it together, some of these resin pieces are tiny, but I'll be damned if this thing isn't going to look amazing, even unpainted.

No wargames these days, more DM/Painting.

I paint things occasionally. Some things you may even like!

I picked up the Fighter, Sword Hunter and the White Knight (Heavy). I almost missed out on the Fighter and White Knight but there were still a few left when I woke up.

This version of the White Knight looks much better IMO, the pose of the original White Knight looked "off" to me.

I've put a hiatus on my KD purchases until we get the KS stuff. As much as I like the Warlords and that Male White Knight, I think this is my line

That's a good philosophy here - and elsewhere - I think.

Now that you mention it, I've suspended all Otherworld Miniatures until that hellaciously ate Indiegogo campaign finally finishes delivering...

After the Christmas and haloween fun, i'm also on the "just waiting" boat.

It really was "how much more expensive can we make them and still sell" and that really put me off....

The prices are still "reasonable", but not for the UK. And then there's how they're moulding all these new models but no sign of the KS fulfilment in sight...

Yes, i am now bitter. Even if i love the models...

As i look for the models i realise that the first two were pretty much "standard":
Halloween Special Pinup Twilight Knight

Pinup Visionary

And then i cannot find the Christmas special, where she's sitting on a Bag of presents IIRC? which went up to $50 if memory serves... (for the 1 - larger - model)

Yeah, the Xmas special had the most complaints iirc, but it turned out to be a 54mm model on a scenic base.

Ah, i see. Well it sort of excuses the prices (barely), but then the entire range is "Private Party for the Rich with no +1s and very strict dress code"... lol

The "they're doing a pile of other things without finishing the KS still stands though....

In fairness, it's at the print factory; the KD sculptors and warehouse folks can't make machines in China print any faster. It's similar to complaining that a video game has released a new armor look or other cosmetic feature rather than fixing core gameplay bugs in the engine; the people involved with one have comparatively little to do with the other, and there's no reason to NOT continue making products in their traditional method given that the KS work is almost wholly different people.

Copying over the comment in the newsletter from the KS thread for those who don't go to that forum since it is a small bit of news:

Spoiler:
Kickstarter & Pre-orders

We are waiting on some news from our printer before we post the next kickstarter update. In our next push, we will be asking everyone to verify their shipping address. Things are getting close and its extremely exciting.

We will be opening the door to public pre-orders once the fulfillment plan has been squared away. This will finally give all of the people that missed out, a chance to pick up the game and get it just behind all the backers that have been patiently waiting for its completion.

There is no set date for when pre-orders will open yet. Thank you.
When will my order ship?
High volume sales may cause shipping delays. Generally we pack and ship orders daily, however during new releases we estimate shipping delays up to 2 weeks. We apologize, please be kind to Joe as he processes and packs your order. Here is his direct line joe@kingdomdeath.com. Thank you!
