Thanks AduroT. If it's just bleeps and bars I'm fine- it's when they cut out whole scenes and such that ruffles my feathers.

So far I've caught up on Attack on Titan(not bad), Rin-ne(really enjoyed), Gate(was actually a little boring), and I've watched the first few episodes of Terraformars(neat concept but I've given up on it-should have listened to everyone's advice ).

Think I'll go for kill la kill next.

Oh, and are they ever going to go back to High School of the Dead, or has it been completely abandoned for Triage X? I like TriX well enough, but it doesn't hold a candle to HotD IMHO.

Kill la Kill is about as great as Gurren Lagann.

Pay very close attention, because when IT happens, you will notice that they were setting {b]IT[/b] up from the very first episode.

Also, Ira Gamagoori and Mako Mankanshouku make the cutest couple (although it makes me really wonder when you discover how big a perv Gamagoori is.

OH!

And if you read any Kanji. The writers of Kill la Kill (and Gurren Lagann) have this fetish for bizarre and rare Kanji.

EVERYTHING (and I mean E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G.) has a double or triple meaning when you have the Kanji available (including Matoi Ryuuko, and Kiyiyiun Satsuke - BTW, if you know how to read Kanji, knowing these rare readings will INSTANTLY give away IT when you understand their names' possible alternative readings).

Kill la Kill is up there with the greats of Gonzo Anime.

And, there is a Dead Leaves homage scene in one of the early episodes (Dead Leaves was a project the creators of Gurren Lagann and Kill la Kill worked on early in their careers).

Is this some sort of "Brotherhood"ing of Naruto? Or a Lost Chapters type thing? I mean, yeah, the daughter looks like Karin- although, then again, Karin is an Uzumaki... That doesn't really explain the son with the Bushy Eyebrows and the YOUF shouting at the end of Naruto proper, though, does it?

Spoiler:
So Sarada Uchia and Baruto Uzumaki (Bolt) are only briefly shown in the epilogue to Naruto. " Naruto Gaiden: Spring of the Seventh Hokage" is a 10 chapter story that serves as the setup to the next Naruto movie which stars Bolt and to an extent Sarada. This story explains basically who Sarada is, and her relation to the main characters so that people who might be fans will be able to see the movie without going "who's this girl?" As BeAfraid linked, Lee's kid is with someone we don't know.

Sarada call Lee's kid 'brother' or something?
. Eh. Glad they're explaining it, anyways. Probably just misunderstood that bit- and though Naruto is better than most about having different biomorphisms for the characters, it's still Anime Face.

Some exciting stuff airing now! I'm super looking forward to Braves of the 6 Flowers and the second season of Seraph of the End coming out in the Fall. The first season wasn't amazing, but it wasn't awful either. Ushio and Tora may be good, but I'm not expecting much from it. And I have never played God Eater, but the anime looks cool!

I will...never be a memory

Gangsta is my gak this season. The first episode was fantastic, and from what I've heard, the second episode is really good too.

The only problem is that the budget for the show was low, so it shows in some of the fight scenes :(.

Also enjoying Braves of the 6 Flowers, if nothing else, the world building in the show looks fantastic. It kind of reminds me of Rage of Bahamaut in the art style (like the same sort of filter over everything?)

Also one of these days we'll get the final episode to Kekkai Sensen (Blood Blockade Battlefront)

Probably a mis-translation. If you translate things too literally, then you'd get a lot of people calling each other brother/sister when they really mean "child who I'm close to".

Second episode is ok. They're still doing their kind of world building explanation thing and introducing how it is. The opening music is pretty sweet though.

Bit of an off topic update. I've managed to get Foundation series. I've knew that similar to Brave new world, the themes are going to be classic and I was rather right. Very enjoyable read so far and I'm moving to Forward the Foundation.

In case someone is looking for a good cyberpunk show (plain TV), try Mr.Robot. I don't think I've ever been this excited and impetuous to see a new episode.

90% of my hype for Gangsta is that I'm reading the manga. So the events of last episode, the introduction of Nina and Doctor Theo, the ranking system of twilights is all just reinforcing the stuff I've read/liked.

I didn't like the OP at first, but its growing on me, but I can't stand the ED.

I want to know why Sasuke and Sakura named their kid:

Salad.

That is the translation of the Romanization of Sarada.

I suppose Kishimoto will explain that eventually.

We know Bolt is named after Naruto's father, one of whose nicknames was the "Lightning Bolt of Konoha."

Ok. Overlord is fething awesome. Way more than I was expecting it to be. He's a freakin' giant wizard skeleton (again, a LICH! I still can't believe a main character in an anime is actually a Lich! ) from the very start. He has his own fortress with his own raid bosses and probably an entire army of undeads and other monsters.

This anime is gonna be so much fun <3

Guys, give "Gakkou Gurashi!" a try.

It was recomended to me by a co-worker, he told me to give it a try and watch this "cute girls doing cute things" anime but he refused to tell me why.

Why not? I like this kind of anime.

It hit me like a truck. I actually felt a shiver down my spine as I said to myself "what the feth...". Then watch the episode all over again. It's like a completely different story.

Spoiler:
No really, I don't remember the last time I was this shocked with a 'scare' scene. It came outta nowhere, I found some stuff weird but that?! What a powerful scene, they got me good.

If you have the time, be sure to rewatch it.

Spoiler:
There are so many hidden hints that nag you the first time you see or hear them but you can't put your finger on it.

Some of their dialogues, the text on the black board when she excuses herself out of the class, the grave on the roof, why the other girl kept interrupting classes giving 0 feths.

This was true terror for me, something I find it's getting quite rare: The whole moment when we realize this happy-go-lucky girl is nothing more thqn a poor girl who's mind has been so horribly broken by what happened everything is a lunatic fantasy, the other girls are probably still sane only because they are protecting her and keeping her in her insane dream, the whole *click* when you find out those hidden messages.

It's beautiful how dark it is.

@ Draconic,
Holy hell, if you'd hadn't mentioned Gakkou Gurashi I would probably skimmed past it. It's not something I'd normally watch but Jesus... on the second run through there's loads and loads of subtle hints you miss the first time. This is gonna be a good one.

Yeah, the level of her delusion was pretty powerful.

Go back and watch the episode again, and you can see scenes where they hint that things are not as they seem.

I do think the Character Design in Overlord is a bit over the top.

But then I stop and think about World of Warcraft, and how the very idea of Minimalist Design is simply non-existent.

I am wondering where they are going with this.

Because the JSDF has an overwhelming advantage, and has wiped out hundreds of thousands of soldiers from the Fantasy World's armies (as part of a plan by the still somewhat naive Emperor to eliminate his rivals).

I hope they don't take away that advantage, because it is something that would be typical of the trope of "Magic triumphs over technology" that is so common in anime.

They need to leave the military supremacy alone, and develop some other plot device to exploit.

The Summer Anime are definitely better than the Spring, at this point, though.

I want World Trigger to get on with it, though (They are having a skip-week today). It still has 15 more episodes to go.

It would make an EXCELLENT long-running anime, given how big their universe potentially is.

But I have noticed something about long-running anime:

Their animation is usually simplistic, and they tend to be very immature (One Piece, Pokemon, Fairy Tale, and most of Naruto). Even Dragonball falls into this category (as not too advanced cell animation).

I want to see something like Sword Art Online, or GITS get a 100 - 500 episode series.

Since the manga writer is apparently a right-wing nationalist with anti-western leanings, this outcome seems unlikely.
