The Jitsu wa Watashi wa adaptation is looking pretty good. They kept enough of the original design to make it recognizable, without being off-putting. My main concern now is whether they condense it too much. The manga is on chapter 80 something at this point, so more than a single season, at the very least. I certainly hope it's well received, because it is one of the funniest mangas I have ever read, as well as being a damn good rom-com.

Although they did feth up on the intro a bit, makes it seem more like a simple harem, which it does have some of those elements, and other girls like him, but's it's pretty clear right off the bat (puns! ) which girl he likes.

Just discovered Food Wars, and god it's hilarious.

Randomly browsing Netflix I decided to give Ouran High School Host Club a try. It's quite a bit different from what I'd usually watch but it *is* kind of funny. I'll give it a few more episodes, nothing else is catching my eye at the moment anyway.

Do you guys think you have to enjoy the show to own a characters' equipment? I hate SAO, but Deathgun's mask is just so sexy.

So, on a semi-related note, I just read through the 60 chapters of Akame ga Kill in one sitting (I started around 11-12 ish, and it's now 3:30). Holy feth, it's practically self inflicted psychological torture. Great story, great characters, great art, but my mind is now broken. I'm just going to watch some feel-good anime for the rest of the night to try and recover.

I am beginning to think that Knights of Sidonia is going to turn into a never-ending story.

After reading much of the Manga, they don't seem to answer too many questions without opening others that DON'T seem to be answered.

While on the subject of "censorship," why does Dakka "censor" certain words, while leaving a word that is just as identifiable?

It is like watching a 1970's dub of an R-rated movie, where the actors are constantly saying:

To a kid, that is just confusing, or they remain oblivious to the bizarre dialog.

But to anyone over the age of twelve, who is familiar with the terminology surrounding intercourse and slang, they KNOW all forms of "F-you."

But Shimoneta is hilarious. I can't remember the name of the girl who is obsessed with discovering the "secrets of reproduction."

And the scene of the flies "doing it" where they had a HUGE homage to Hentai Doujinshi when the entire student body has a simultaneous orgasm..... Brilliant!

Nah, not really, you could even hate the character. What matters is how sexy a gear is, and oh boy, Deathgun's gear is awesome. That metal skull-mask and cloak is pretty cool.

Non Non Biyori Repeat was the best way to start my work day today. Yesterday was stressful as feth, but the atmosphere, sound effects and music is like a muscle relaxant. Just so dang relaxing

Yeah I saw that last night browsing. Big fan of the manga as well, but how bad is Crunchyroll at censoring? Based off the manga I imagine there would be a few things cut.

Been away for awhile. Finally getting back to it! Finished Fate/Stay night was pretty good on the whole. Mostly loved the visuals, god damn they opened the vault for them on UBW's.

First Episode of NNB and im a very happy person. Its going to be the perfect unwind show for after work on hard days.

I watched Death Note. It was pretty good.

After Death Note, I watched a couple movies and decided to re-watch the Naruto main plotline, skipping over filler episodes like the plague. I'm right after

Finished 8 episodes of Madoka Magica. It's solid, but it's far from the AMG DECONSTRUCTION OF MAGICAL GIRLS that I see it referred to as. As solid as it is though, I've been able to guess most of the plot twists (that haven't been spoiled for me). I think i figured out how it ends, so the final 4 episodes is just me seeing everything unfold.

After you finish Alf, and if you feel like continuing with it watch Rebellion. its puts a second spin on it all after the wrap up which I quite enjoyed as well.

I have completed Naruto (save for waiting for the Anime to catch up with the manga - they don't have far to go).

And, when I found out that Naruto wound up with Hinata, that was all I needed to know.

I have a NaruHina fan since they first revealed her character during the first Chuunin Exams.

I liked her with short-hair better though, but I get that they are going with her evolution into a Japanese Princess Character (which is what her name means/is, after all), and you can't have one of those without hair that is six feet long.

I suspect when Kishimoto gets around to doing Naruto in Middle-Age, Hinata will be depicted as a shy, but powerful Princess, capable of leveling mountains, with hair that covers the floor for yards around her.

Sasuke and Sakura belong together, as both characters are so self-abosorbed.

I generally hate harem stuff but the monster girl hook has me curious. Checked out the first episode, and it's pretty much wall to wall sex jokes/compromising situations. Only the lamia's in the first episode so hopefully as the other girls get added in they can change it up a bit but otherwise it'll likely get boring. Oh, but no censorship on it really except convenient nipple censors, ie hair/steam/ect.

TBH, it's one of the harems that I actually like, despite despising most harms. It's cute, silly, and very funny. And every single character is likable.

Thanks AduroT. If it's just bleeps and bars I'm fine- it's when they cut out whole scenes and such that ruffles my feathers.

So far I've caught up on Attack on Titan(not bad), Rin-ne(really enjoyed), Gate(was actually a little boring), and I've watched the first few episodes of Terraformars(neat concept but I've given up on it-should have listened to everyone's advice ).

Think I'll go for kill la kill next.

What I find really funny is that not one but TWO Naruto fanfictions accurately predicted how things would wind up, if from different directions. And by different, I mean one was a Justice League crossover. (it was pretty awesome, btw)

I think, no matter the genre or sub-genre, the best Anime are the ones that know that what they're doing is inherently ridiculous, and fully embrace themselves. Well, for anime that's not world-changing, like GiTS. But there's a reason that shows like, oh, ALL OF TRIGGER are so successful, while ones like Infinite Stratos aren't- it's that embracement (is that a word?) of the sublime.

The entire plot of Naruto Gaiden is that Sarada wants to find her father who is in wandering hermit mode because Sakura got sick/injured and she finds a picture of Karin and is like whoah she looks like me, MUST BE MY MOM! And then we get some dumb heartwarming lesson about who it's not who gave birth to you, but blah blah blah. So Sarada then goes on thinking "It's okay that Sakura is my mom..." and then Karin who has gone full Skrillex with her haircut says "WTF MATE I HELPED SAKURA GIVE BIRTH"

Oh, well, if they've cut scenes out I wouldn't know, because it was cut and I wouldn't have seen it. I was talking more to censors like Blood C+ and Terraformers had where they'd be blacking out half the screen and you couldn't even tell what was going on half the time because you couldn't see Anything.
