So there is no way to field these as their own army? Those harlies are so awesome, I love them with my entire body (even my pee pee!!!). Just look at them and you can tell they flip out and kill everything ALL the time. These guys are totally awesome, and that's a fact. And I want my own Space Elf Clown army of head chopping off death and dismemberment so much that I need to take a crap.

Meh. Love the Death Jester. The rest of them, with their magical springy loincloths, just look silly.
The sculpts are nice enough that it would be interesting to see what they would look like with the loincloths cut down to a sensible length... but I don't think I'm interested enough to actually try it.

That's the sacrifice you have to make for the sense of movement. Rackham does it on most of their elf models. At least GW is thoughtful enough to make sure the connecting cloak is thick enough not to snap off with use- Rackham models are terribly annoying for that!

Posted By Drake_Marcus on 03/11/2007 7:20 PM That's the sacrifice you have to make for the sense of movement. A 'sense of movement' doesn't require a model to be positioned floating in mid-air balanced on their loincloth... It wouldn't be so bad if the loincloths were at least following the movement... Posted By Drake_Marcus on 03/11/2007 7:20 PM Rackham does it on most of their elf models. Yup. Hate it when they do it, too.

They should have just went all out on the backflipping and anti-grav belt tricks sculpts and just included a clear flying base peg (made just for these) so you could mount them "hovering" over a normal base. At least using clear acrylic is something I would prbably use to solve that problem.

Have to disagree with those who do not like these models. They have some of the most dynamic poses in the 40K range compared to Space Marine chaplains who are barely moving. Even if they floating on loincloths, it gives the impression acrobatic movement.

Someone needs to write GW and remind them they are not supposed to release eldar models in blisters. We are only supposed to be able to buy numerous box sets to make one small unit that we need. The end of the world and sign of the anti christ will be more blisters of eldar aspects and exarchs. So annoying I have 20 dire avengers from awhile ago when they did that first run of avengers in plastics but no cool looking exarch.

I'm not blown away by the models, but since they are in keeping with some of the new trends (loincloth hovering) in models, I can see why some people are.
My main complaint is that there's not that many poses, and since nobody is going to field them without Kisses, there's effectively half as many useful poses without sawing stuff up (and paying the cost of two Harlequins to get one).

Scratch building a kiss looks pretty damn easy to me. Shouldn't be that hard.
Curious if these will blend in with the old scuplts at all. If they do, that adds quite a few poses.
That being said, never been a fan of space mimes, as models or as a concept.

Saw these in my local GW the other day. Amazing sculpts and so easy to convert. The torsos and seperate from the legs. So you can easyily swap legs and poses between them. Also as to the loin cloth issue. In the flesh these look awesome and they don't look silly at all. You can easily cut them down however if you'd prefer or add flying bases. The two part torso and legs makes such conversions even easier.

Aaargh. More Jes Goodwin elven nonsense!
Doesn't the man ever believe in sculpting dancing elves that look the direction they are travelling in? Why do they always have to have that "two dimensional" thing going on how they stick their arms out sideways or backwards and look along them...
*yawns*
And while the paint jobs are pretty nifty, no real human being is ever going to be able to paint them that way! I wonder how many will be bought by frothers thinking the artwork is fantastic only to have them turn into risible lumps on the tabletop?

I'm planning to build a DE Wych Cult army using a frickin' PILE of harlequins. I already have the pile of harlequins. Now I just need to figure out how to paint them and convert some Raiders.

Don't know...these Harlequins don't do it for me. The Death Jester is freakin sweet, I will buy him 100%, sure. The Shadowseer is also nice, but I'm not sure how to use him without any harlies in my army.
The other ones...I wished, they would have looked a bit ore sinister. But maybe you can do that with a paintjob.

I'm not a big fan. I think they could have done better. GW got better "sense of motion" out of their Wood Elves. The Death Jester is probably the best, but he looks like he's part of Gwar. http://www.gwar.net/home.php -Jmz

Just wondering, but haven't these been previewed already? I get a sense of deja vu. Either I got a vision of the future or you guys are living under rocks which are apparently more characterful than Chaplains.
Anyway, I love the paintjob. I love when Rackham and PP give their models the best paintjobs while GW sometimes does ok jobs which are blown away by golden demon artists.

I like the models. I think it's a good set, as I don't mind having a few without the kiss (although the lone chainsword looks a bit out of place in the unit), assuming a couple are going to get killed from shooting.
What's frustrating is that the fusion pistols are modeled onto the harlies without kisses... the ones I would want to remove from my unit first.
I also think it would be nice if the Troupe Leader had a a kiss arm option.. but failing that, it looks like his CC weapon, which I assume is the Power Weapon, may be difficult to distinguish from the swords that the other harlies carry. Can anyone who has seen the models up close speak to whether or not his weapon is clearly distinct from the others?
