Well... Where to start? I wanted to post on your log as you posted on my mine but now my noble sons of the Emperor are offended that I decided to look at the loathsome corruption that is Nurgle.

That GUO is awesome and I love the totally screwed up Guardsman at his feet. It's a really nice piece (good move using some gloss varnish). Your painting style in general is very complimentary to Chaotic corruption and I love the use of Necromunda pieces! The latest demon pieces are also very cool, though I urge you to get the basing completed on those infantry

And... You use a squadron of Basilisks... A SQUADRON. Nice. Get painting, Chaos filth, you may aswell exploit being unemployed while you can!! PAINT, SCUM!

Heh heh, thanks for the comments Jihad-Ragsta.

I've gotten some work done on the Death Brigade, bases done and started painting. I also took the day to sculpt up two potential masks for the Gaur which I'd really like some opinions on. So, which one you guys like for him? I got a few mask less heads so i'll be making use of both of them but I'm kind of leaning toward the one with bigger teeth, the lighter green. What you all think?

Yup I thought so too Capt.Solstice. I think its fitting that the leader have the biggest grotesque. Here's a quick update of whats been going down the last couple nights.
This may not be the final mask, i'm actually still letting the gs dry before detailing up the sides a bit more but here's some progress shots of the sculpting i've been working on last night and today...

where the other mask went

And here's progress shots of the rest of the Death Brigade broken down by squad. The painting scheme so far is Codex Grey fatigues with Deneb Stone armor. I'll be building up the colors to a dark grey and bone with markings in blood. Im not sure about the face masks yet, thinking burnished bronze to tie it in with the rest of the army. Im not so sure about the color of the weapons yet either.. suggestions are more than welcome.
Command Hq

Sniper vets

Melta vets

Flamer vets

And the ride for the Melta Vets a converted Vendetta Gunship. Im planning on an Imperial Navy grey color scheme with yellow and black hazards. The idea here is that the ornaments are not too overt, though obviously dedicated to Khorne, at first glance it should look like it could be Imperial. These guys are elite killers, they dont care much about ornaments, only that the blood flows. As this bird sees combat I'll add battle damage and kill markings.

I'll only add damage and trophy's to commemorate truly memorable battles and kills. But yeah, I sort of like the idea of keeping track of events for the Blood Pact this way, including bloodying blades for exceptional hth kills, surviving against the odds, etc. Keeps things fresh.

I think it is great that you do that. I've converted models to show trophies from spectacularly epic battles, like for my WoC I created a BSB that has the head of a Doombull after all but tabling (had 3 character models left that I couldn't catch up with) my friend's Beastmen. I've also added Space Marine and Eldar helms to my Ork Warboss banner pole back in the day.

Loving this project, looking forward to more!

Aloha DakkaDakka! Been a little while, life got too busy for blogging recently but i'll try to be more diligent about pictures, this update will be tiny, sorry . This week I've bashed together this Abaddon conversion from a terminator lord kit my girlfriend scored me for Christmas. And with that she, inspired me to do a small Black Legion army.

Thanks for stopping by!

Quick pic-update today of some legionaries I bashed together last night from my csm bitzbox.

Spoiler:
I'm realizing how ADD my blog must seem at the moment with my little decent into madness with the Black Legion here but I assure you kind reader its all part of Tzeench's grand scheme. This plog is essentially an attempt at keeping track of with whats on my bench, to get feedback and to plan the Chaos army builds. Builds you may ask? Yes. By the time sixth edition and the chaos legions codex rolls around I aim to have my massive carnival of chaos completed, 15,000+ points in Chaos. I'll be updating this blog as I make headway. This is whats to come for the The Carnival of Chaos in order by the least amount of work needed until completion and points size. I realize that without pics this nightmare isn't real, i assure you, it is and there will be proof. I plan to take good pictures of the armies as i finish them. I am a patient man, and have been working for a long time on this, as of yet this plog is a smattering of what im working on but i do hobby more than I blog. so much to do, so little time... the dark gods come!
"The Apostles of Contagion": This warband uses the character "Nercrosius" and the Servants of Decay List from IA 7 Seige of Vraks: ~3,000pts
"The Tainted": Represented with Codex: Chaos Space Marines (for now) and the character "Daemon Prince Mamon" from IA 7: ~3,000pts
"Papa Ga'ap's Children of the Blighted Pit": Codex: Chaos Daemons and the "Greater Daemon Papa Ga'ap" from the recently updated IA: Apocaplypse 2nd Edition ~3,000pts
"Daemon Primarch Magnus and the Thousand Sons": Codex: Chaos Space Marines. This army is modeled and painted to represent the Thousand Sons just prior to Ahriman's betrayal and the casting of the rubric. ~3,000pts
"Traitor Guard Armor Company of Unknown Designation": Codex: Imperial Guard. These guys fill out the traitor guard armies as they go to war. ~2,000pts
"The Black Brotherhood of Dagonet": Codex:Chaos Space Marines. This army makes extensive use of daemon summoning and will allow me to work on Slanesh and Khorne champions and daemons. ~1,500 pts.
"Blood Pact Death Brigade":Codex Imperial Guard. ~1,500 pts.
The Nurgle armies are all mostly finished, the traitor armor company too. The Thousand Sons and Black Legion along with the Blood Pact is where the majority of the work still lays ahead. So, now that i have shared my madness with you to such an extent.... DO YOU HEAR THE VOICES TOOO?!?!!!!

Warning! This is a mental evacuation here! Read it only if your curious about why my projects seem so scatterbrained and what can be expected in the future for this blog.

Yes, I hear the voices too. So many projects, so paths leading to the same place- Chaos. I haven't shared my other works on Dakka yet but I have an extensive World Eaters army and a sizable "Black Crusade" force comprising of elements from many different Legions. In total I likely have over 15K worth of Chaos. But why? I do not know. I just know it needs to be done. Once I have my Death Guard "finished" I'm planning on moving back to my World Eaters and doing to them what I have done to my Death Guard, which is to change it from a Black Crusade contingent and make them a complete force to be reckoned with. The current rules have made them very specific "one trick ponies" and I am hoping 6th Ed recognizes that if ALL World Eaters were nothing more than frothing berserk bloodthirsty maniacs that charge headlong into any enemy with nothing more than chainaxes and bolt pistols the many warbands would have been stomped into little tiny bits of red armor long, long ago.

I digress. Great work you are doing here. And again... yes, I hear the voices.

Excellent brothers! I'm sure the next incarnation of our fell legions must be better than what we have now, since while they could have been worse they certainly can't streamline the codex anymore than have already... only place to go is up for the chaos cults. No update pics but Abaddon has been disassembled for the final paint work, hopefully i get a couple of hours to work on him this week, i'd really like to get him finished and a few more legionaries put together. Oh, some revamped old school terminators coming up as well as a squad of raptors. Must keep slaving ... for the dark gods!

Hello Dakka folks! I have a bit more Black Legion done last night. So, the First squad is almost finished. My first couple of gs attempts at the shoulder-pads were sort of meh.. but after a bunch more trys I got better and faster. I'll strip these guys prior to painting I'm decently pleased with them at this point, though some gs insignia are a little skewed, maybe after they dry completely i can try to break them off and adjust, might not be worth the effort though.

As always, any are appreciated! Mahalo.

Yeah i'm looking forward to getting to do some damage but i dont know if it'll get close enough for a heavy flamer. So far its served in two games and hasn't gotten taken out. Took an Imobilized from another Vendetta but then returned fire and killed it. The squad got out and hoofed it while it continued to explode a leman demolisher and disable the rest of the squadron closing in on the lines. Later the tech-priest got it moving again though and it even went back in to pick up the surviving members of the team. It was a pretty major armor engagement 2k of guard on guard armor. Against nids it got several MC kills and just kind of hung back unloading. To be honest if it continues to do so well I think I'll wait till 10 or more high priority kills to add another trophy though I do want to add one for the air to air kill against the Imperial Vendetta... those skum! In any case both games were wins for the Blood Pact! Nids dont like sniper rifles... or Hellhounds. Guard on Guard games are always interesting it was a big slug-fest.

Oh, i also undercoated the squad and the raptors, so more to come...

The squad is progressing. For their gold; I do a layer of snakebite brown, then vermin, then shining gold. Im not sure about what color to highlight the black with, I kind of want to avoid the usual grey highlight, i'm thinking dark angels green actually, if anyone has any comments on this by all means chuck it at me.

Also, here is a teaser of the raptors,

It really gets me thinking about what I'm doing w/ my modeling and other projects right now. I think I need to shift gears and work on something simply to just work on it. I'm getting a bit burnt on the Death Guard.

Exactly! I don't want to settle for just tabletop for my models but taking the time to take each trooper up to high level of detail means that all my armies are in it for the long term, due to fatigue. All my table-top level stuff is simple waiting to get more work done on it, and hitting the battlefield. I know some people have a very different approach but my hobby philosophy is very long term, my orks, death guard and traitor guard have been works in progress for years and in planning for even longer. These Black Legion, while getting kicked off by a gift over Christmas has been sitting in the bits box waiting. When i get tired of Chaos i jump over the my Orks, which i actually fatigue from pretty fast. Painting 100+ of Orks is the most brutal thing...ever. But i love the hobby, i dont know what i'd do if i didn't have 8 projects on the back burners and a desk filled with paint pots! lol I also love to play the bad guys and i have a nemisis army for every "good" race. Orks (Speed Freaks and Blood Axe Air Cav.), Necrons and the Carnival of Chaos [Traitor Guard, Death Guard, Thousand Sons, Black Legion]. I should get around to taking a couple of big pics of the armies. It'll give me an idea of what i've got to finish and what its worth if i need to sell an army or two.

I do have a small army of "good", a 1750 point Steel Legion/Catachan force. If your interested, this is the the fluff behind every game i play with them: An armored infantry platoon of 1177th battalion 276th Armageddon Steel Legion were charged with defending a Deathstrike missle and an crotchety old Commissar Lord in transit to a classified launch point for a pivotal strike against the {Insert Xeno's/Traitor's} scum. A classified operation, disguised to look like the usual convoy, but just operating way way out in the DMZ. They started off with 9 Chimera, a squadrons all of Sentinels and Hellhounds and Leman Russ Battletanks, and the DSM (covered in a tarp), so much for disguise. Days crossing the {ash wastes/ jungles/ no-man's land/ hive city}, then the {Insert Xeno's/Traitor's} scum attacked, almost within striking distance to the objective. The attack was swift and brutal. The column got pinned from the flanks. Caught in a crossfire they fell back towards the DSM and attempted to consolodate. After tremendous losses at the commissars command of-course, what was left of the column fell back. Being out in the middle of now-where the option was to fall back. The {Insert Xeno's/Traitor's} scum pursued. For days they fell back, damaged vehicles were abandoned as they went, the crew hoofing it from there on. All the officers, including the fething Commissar got smoked, the only officers left were 4 Sgt., the most senior (smartest) of which was field-promoted by the others to Lt. Not a single soldier left in the platoon who isn't in their 1st tour of duty. For many this was the first time they had seen any small arms action since the hives back home. Now, finally in long-vox range of the nearest out-post (still a night away) there are less than 60 of them left. All the Chimera's, Leman's, Hound's all got feth-ed. Only one sentinel, 2 lascannons, 4 missle launchers, and 3 heavy bolter's. Good thing someone called in literally less than 30 Catachans (who showed up in their entirety with just a Stormlord (mostly filled with gear and ammo) and one Leman Russ Demolisher). Three of these guys can carry lascannons over their shoulders like it was just an awkward rukk-pack, apparently they have solo heavy weapon teams. Their iho-smoking colonel and his retinue look like they came straight out of a xeno-action film (they have, pretty much by vid-feed accounts). The Col. steps out the Stormlord, stretches, spits and grins. Then he starts barking out orders in a thick Catachan accent, where the words string together seemingly without punctuation. And whatever you do, do not act him to repeat himself by saying, "what"? A backhand slap from the colonel on Cpl.Jetken sent him and his Flak sprawling.
"I dont know whats scarier sarge, the fact that were going to get hit by the {Insert Xeno's/Traitor's} again. Who want to take our DSM and shove it up our feth-hole. Or the 20 guys command sends to help us, who seem.. As far as i can tell.. to be intent on letting the {Insert Xeno's/Traitor's} try it. Again."
