GW Managers and staff working in the stores on Saturday for the 'Announcement' have been told beforehand that they need to pick up a roll of Gaffer tape that will stick to and show up well on the shop floor.
Don't know what this is for, but I'm assuming it's to Mark out a board of some sorts, maybe similar to what people do for boarding action missions in 40k. Maybe this does mean that it includes boarding actions?
Advance orders do go up Saturday and it's apparently the 'only' way to get in on the action. The 'announcement' is going to go up on the GW website at 00:01 hours on Saturday 17th September. Which for me kinda defeats the object of trying to encourage as many people to get down to their stores as possible.
Ah well.....

Also White Dwarf has been pushed back from the 24th September to the 1st October, not sure if this is Dread Fleet orientated or just that September is a long month.
Maybe it has been delayed because there is more product to be announced apart from Dread Fleet and they wanted GD UK to steel the limelight and create a buzz for the follow on WD release?
I am hoping we are going to get a preview of TWC at GD as it seems like they are incoming.

Yup You are correct. Glad you got it too. That is my fault. I have no idea on how I can miss the gross profit line in bold letters that is staring in front of me in this monitor right now. My apologies on that one. 91 million is their gross profit. Total revenue is 123 million pounds. As far is R&D, how did you get the 10% number. Am I missing something? If it is closer to 10% of gross profits by what you saw then that is a decent amount for R&D. Which makes part of my previous comment moot.

Following on from this, I've just seen what the gaffer tape is for and it's not particularly interesting. Stores are to create a 'dotted line' from they're front door to they're order point meant to look like a treasure map. With an 'X marks the spot' at the terminal.
Dissapointing I know.
Stores will get a limited amount of stock on the 1st October release day based on the amount of money they take on average. But once they are sold they won't be replenished. The only way to guarantee it is to Pre-order in the 15 days before release.
Only one thing left to say now....... Arrrrrggghh me hearties!!

Yes, I know there are many dungeon crawler type games, but WHQ was clearly of the same DNA as Heroquest. They where direct line, Heroquest to Advanced Heroquest to Warhammer Quest. MB might have done the first one, but GW carried it on with Advanced, then WQ. In fact if I am remembering correctly, the white Dwarf Warhammer Quest release issue, mentioned the name change came about because people no longer identified with Advanced Heroquest and they wanted to keep the Warhammer connection clearly visable. edit - dang lag, wrecking posts.. grumble.

Not suprising I didn't know anyone other than me that bought Advanced Heroquest or was that bothered about it.
I thought that it was good but there seemed to be so much other stuff going on at roughly the same time it was a bit ignored.
By time Warhammer Quest rolled around I thought i didn't want to be the only guy buying that game again and so missed out on its delights - also the reason I was hoping that it would be due a release now.

Yeah, no other relationship, clearly.
In other news, Rogue Trader and 40k 5th Edition are also unrelated, and just happen to be tabletop battle games set in a grimdark future using broadly similar figures. One was released sometime after the other.

I seem to remember GW pushed Warhammer Quest pretty hard when it was released. There were lots of events in stores, campaigns were run etc., and WD had quite a few issues with new characters and scenarios to pay (it was during the 'cardboard phase' of the mag, so I think they even gave away a floor tile at one point! )
Certainly, it wasn't a fire and forget which it looks like this one is going to be, which is a bit of a shame.

What I mean is that each GW store will be sent 'x' amount to sell to Joe public after release day. Once they are sold that's it. I'm sure there will be 'x' amount available to online customers also, which includes people Pre-ordering through the store (which won't come out of their allowance), however if they are all snapped up in pre-orders before release day then there might not be any left for general sale on the website.
So the best way to make sure you get it is to Pre-order it on the website either at home or at the store.

? What planet are you on that thinks most Brits are in bed by 12 on a Friday night? Pubs don't shut till 11.30 and then it's clubs after. I reckon they are hoping we're drunk so we order it. Personally I'd rather spend my cash on figures for games I'm already invested in but seeing as it's Games Day next week i'm hoping there will be some copies to play or at least figures to oogle.

That would be the one where I am English living in US. Friday 12am would either see me drunk, drunk half asleep lying on my kabab (with chili sauce) or drunk chasing after equally drunk women. Certainly not on GW website and if was on the internet past 12am having been drinking it would not be little plastic models I would be looking at.

I was hopping that someone else would arrive at that same conclusion so that I wouldn't have to post it directly.
But to answer our own question, just read this thread and the Dread Fleet one, you'll find plenty of people chomping at the bit to order it just based on it being from GW, so my faith for the future of mankind plummets a little more yet again...
