Beast-Captain Torgo: AdeptiCon 2013 Sci-fi Model

Torgo is one of a line of genetic experiments known as Broolians, the product of an insane experiment by the mad geneticists of the planet Broolia. The so-called Broolian Beastmen first saw service as mercenaries in the service of several stellar empires and have now fought in countless warzones across the Orion-Cygnus Spur.

Beast-Captain Torgo insists on taking the same risks as his beast-brothers, and so is ever to be found at the forefront of the battle. He wields the same flame thrower he as carried since his earliest days of service, unwilling to take up a weapon others might think more suitable to the commander a successful and feared mercenary force. In battle, Torgo is as ferocious and savage as all his kin, eschewing subtlety as soon as the bullets start flying and the charge is called. Few can stand up to such a charge, for the Broolians of Beast-Captain Torgo fight not for wealth, but for the sheer, savage joy that was seeded in their bestial hearts by the insane geneticists of the planet Broolia.

Direct from Victoria Miniatures, Beast-Captain Torgo will be found lurking the swag bags of the first 2000 preregistered attendees with an AdeptiCon 2013 Weekend Badge! Bring a leash!

Saw that on FB, love it, want it!!!!

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

Is there a way to check if you were one of the first 2000 registered? I had confirmation that I got a full swag bag but I don't want to get excited over models I wont get.

On another note, I love that beatsman model. He will be going straight into my PCS flamer squad.

Out of curiosity, how popular are the LOTR events?

The LotR events have always had a dedicated following. the 2013 event are close to selling out. 4 out of 20 tickets left for the LotR Championships. 4 out of 16 left for the March to Mount Doom event. The LotR Team Tournament is sold out (12 teams/24 players).

Here are the Warhammer 40K Championships Primer Missions. The first page details the typical Order of Battle that most W40K6e games follow - however, play particular attention to the terrain rules as they are unique to AdeptiCon and our terrain sets.

This Order sheet will be included in all major Warhammer 40K events, with only slight modifications (e.g., references to Coalition instead of player in the Team Tournament packet, no references for Fortifications in the Combat Patrol packet...).

Warhammer 40K Team Tournament Primers will be released shortly.

Well in my opinion, as popular as LOTR can be considering it is treated as the red-headed step child of GW core games. (And I'm talking about GW's treatment itself)

The event draws a good crowd of local players (Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Michigan) with the occasional player from further afield. But the event is nowhere as big as 40k or Fantasy, which IMHO, isn't a bad thing really. We have 12 teams for our Friday event and 16 players for each of the other events (Thursday night and Saturday day). If you are looking for a break from the other systems and something a bit quiter and low key than LOTR events at Adepticon are perfect. They are usually about an 8 hour event so it leaves you time for evening activities (except the Thursday night event which is about 5 hours) and are one day so you can easily fit them in around other events. We have often had players who play the 40k team on Saturday (in the past) and would do LotR the other day as a change of pace. Plus, the group we usually attract are fantastic players and people always have a fun time at the event.

If I can answer any questions for you or anyone else interested in trying out LOTR/The Hobbit at Adepticon (or just trying it in your local club) please send me a PM.

Thanks,

Jamie

Here are the Warhammer 40K Team Tournament Primer Missions. The first page details the typical Order of Battle that most W40K6e games follow - however, play particular attention to the terrain rules as they are unique to AdeptiCon and our terrain sets.

Remember: Each Coalition will receive two Twists of Fate per game. This ability may be used to re-roll any of the following rolls regardless of the original result: Warlord Traits, Mysterious Terrain, Mysterious Objectives, Outflank or Reserves. Standard re-roll rules apply (pg. 5) – second result counts and no single dice can be re-rolled more than once. Each unused Twist of Fate scores your Coalition 1 point. Certain missions may present alternative uses for Twists of Fate in the Mission Special Rules section.

Sweet. Sitting at #1 on the wait list for the TT so I'm pretty pumped to start trying out these missions.

Any idea when the initial FAQ draft will be out?

Black Library Returns (Revised Info)

Black Library will once again be part of the AdeptiCon experience, bringing with them three notable authors: C.L. Werner, Andy Smillie and Mike Lee!

C.L. Werner joins us from Arizona, and has been responsible for such characters as the infamous bounty hunter Brunner, the cunning sorcerer Thyssen Krotzigk, the ruthless witch hunter Mathias Thulmann, and skaven fifth columnist Skrim Gnaw-tail.

Andy Smillie hails from the northern reaches of Glasgow, by way of Nottingham where he works in marketing by day and transforms into a literary superhero by night. His writing credits include a veritable swathe of articles for various sci-fi, fantasy and hobby magazines. His debut work of fiction, Mountain Eater, was released in 2011 in the digital publication Hammer & Bolter.

Mike Lee was the principal creator and developer for White Wolf Game Studio’s Demon: The Fallen. Over the last eight years he has contributed to almost two dozen role-playing games and supplements. Not only will Mike be at AdeptiCon, but Black Library will also be selling his limited hardback novella, Traitor’s Gorge – making AdeptiCon the first American event where this book will be available and the first event anywhere where you can get it signed by the author! Traitor’s Gorge is a Space Marine Battles story, complete with evocative art, color campaign maps and beautiful character portraits. Numbered and limited 1000 copies, this is sure to be a highly sought-after item! For more information on Traitor's Gorge, check out the Black Library website.

Ok, I admit to confusion. It's regarding the Gladiator and allies/force org stuff.

Here are the two parts of the rules packet I'm confused about:

"Armies will consist of a base list of 2500 points or less using a standard Force Organization Chart with an optional secondary Force Organization Chart and additional Primary Detachment rules (Warhammer 40,000 rulebook, pg. 109).
o 1 Fortification per standard Force Organization Chart
o 1 Allied Detachment per standard Force Organization Chart (See Super Heavy or Gargantuan Creature Rules Below)

and

Only one Super Heavy or Gargantuan Creature may be taken per army. That unit MUST be of the same codex as the Primary Detachment and is allocated as the entire second optional standard Force Organizational Chart."

Now does that mean if I took say CSM and a Warhound Titan. Would I still be able to take two allied detachments or just one?

Warhammer Fantasy FAQ and Clarifications

The Daemons of Chaos have been unleashed and in their wake trails a number of lingering questions. The following mini-FAQ will be in effect for all Warhammer Fantasy Battles events at AdeptiCon 2013.

Warriors of Chaos: Demon Princes are considered Demons for the Lore of Light Attribute.

Demons of Chaos: Reign of Chaos applies only when rolled during the Demon player Magic Phase.

Demons of Chaos: Reign of Chaos rolls 5, 6, 8, & 9 - roll for each enemy unit (regardless) and only for friendly units with the named Mark.

Demons of Chaos: Kairos Fateweaver must have his 8 chosen spells declared at the beginning of the tournament and must use those spells in each game. These spells must be listed on the army roster.

All summoned models (VC Undead, Demon Princes, Spawn, & Demons) must be painted according to the AdeptiCon Model Policy in order to be used at AdeptiCon.
