Hmm.. I seem to have this sheet of concept artwork freshly delivered from Heath.

What could we need a fresh sheet of Otter Ashigaru concepts for?

What ever it is, I have a feeling it's going to lead to me having to buy even more otters! lol

That's looking great! What sort of alternatives are the Highlanders going to have?

Nooooooo... I just ordered a Ribenguo starter, which will for sure come with the old models. Any ETA on those new ones? I wonder if just waiting to assemble the starter for some new Ashigarus is worth it.

By the way, awesome concept art as always.

Yeah. Hence the high price of the post, I'm planning to make a big order some time later. because models I want come out one after the other, this time goes further and further back.

My plan was to wait for Frederwerk and Nevsky, now I think I will also wait for the new Asigaru.

They're going to be plastic!!! (Based on the Facebook announcement) Really cool.

Now that is exciting news! What else is coming in plastic I wonder!? The mind boggles!

Can this be any better?

(I prefer plastic over resign or metal)

We're going to focus on popular things that are expensive for us to continue to produce in metal (generally due to bits) and those that give us constant QC headaches(miscasts/broken bits in shipping). The Otters fought tooth and claw to be first in line..

Don't ask about pricing/model counts yet, we don't have that figured out.

Bob is sculpting these digitally.

The current plan is to use Proxie Models for production.

For what it is worth, I vote for Conscripts in plastics sooner than later. Three out of four bits of the bows and tails have broken on me, without even seeing game yet. Also, plastic being easier to position/convert would help with their numbers.

You know... The Conscripts are the first model released for Brushfire, and got a new weapon option in 2nd Edition...

This is all good news! I still want to know more about the Highlanders though, how many arm combinations are you doing? I'm like a dog with a bone. Boom, boom!

I knew it! This was going to lead to me buying more Otters!
XD

Comeing with the back banners is also VERY exciteing. Trying to scratch built thows from plastic card is prety finicky.
>.<

Multiple heads, but one basic body for now in the kit as with most of Axony's units. It'll be resin (the claymore might be a metal bit) so you'll have an easier time converting.

And the Ankles...

Ultimately they were too drunk to beat the Otters in the fight for first plastic release.

That was the plan, the Highlanders should look great and stoic out of the box, but they'll also be in a friendly medium for conversions.

Ultimitly the otters were still a good choice. The cheap hoard infantry like Otters and Rat Raiders kinda need the plastic more. Trying to collect, assemble, and paint a hoard of mutipart metal modles can be over whelming for alot of people.

Are you willing or able to discuss your views on production with Proxy? As I mentioned on Facebook I haven't been impressed with any of the other stuff they've done from a quality stand point. I'd be interested to hear what your thoughts are on this...

I've been happy with the bases we've gotten from them, and I saw the shipping containers he did for another company at Adepticon that were quite nice.

We'll be slightly limited by sprue-size and non-slide core molding, but I think we'll be able to make some fantastic plastic kits.

And despite the success many companies have had with Wargames Factory, and the level of quality they produce, I have no desire to move any of our casting out of the states.

I've got some of the aforementioned shipping crates that Cy was talking about. They're well made, they fit together nicely, and the plastic is pretty strong. I'll bring one with me to GenCon (if I remember to )

Or I could send you one (note you still owe me an mkIII marine and a 50mm base no?)

Alf, ill add getting that stuff to you to my list of stuff to get done this week.

I get that you don't want to move production overseas but their are plastic manufacturers in the US with a higher level of injection molding technology...

I'm in a class for work right now but later tonight I'll go more in-depth and include pictures of things that highlight my concern.
