I think their current business modell is to create new stuff, produce it till the demand dies down, then create something new, produce it and so on. All previous stuff will be produced when the demand is high enough again. It does not hurt to write them a mail and ask what happened to the not-Necron stuff. If they see people are intrested it might return. This is my experince from doing business with them one year ago. Just do not expect ad hoc super fast production.

Has anyone ordered stuff from these guys that wasn't utter crap? There concepts and pictures are amazing every product I've ordered is terrible garbage. (Granted I've only ordered 2 times and purchased one from ebay). I want to like all their stuff, I love the sculpts, but can't get anything worth investing in.

I ordered from them about 5 times, never had any issues with anything. I posted a review earlier in this topic if you want to see pictures.

How long ago was this?

They have definitely improved (in my personal orders) over time. But I haven't ordered anything in a while.

Unfortunately for us (Dakka-ites) PuppetsWar has decided to remove themselves from Dakka instead of dealing with the criticism of their casting quality.

I have been in (gamer-)love with their concepts since very early on. I have a quite a few pieces from them (check my profile pic and albums) and nearly all have had insignificant to minor casting problems, with a few select small bits being nearly unusable.

But, based on my last order and from the most recent reviews of others here, they have seem to have gotten better.

I do hope they have gotten better, but I'm not sure how much we can trust casts that puppetswar have sent out as promo pieces in terms of final product quality. I'm sure the reviewer is honest, but promo stuff always has its best foot forward while their retail stuff doesn't always do so as well...

I have had good experience using their parts for alternative space marine shoulders and heads. I have also been using those round shields for Storm shields and they are beautiful.

The shoulders were a bit of a pain to cut off the sprues as they were attached by the bottom which is the thinnest, most fragile section. Also does not fit in exactly the same manner as normal tac marine shoulders as the inside 'hollow' is smaller. Easy to adjust for this though.

Overall pretty happy with the results, especially the shields.

It's been several months now. If you notice all the news and preview posts have been from Dakka-ites. There hasn't been an official post from PW in a long time.

I will say that the stuff I got from them before everything went to poop was solid. Granted I haven't really inspected the flyers yet but all the turrets and such were fine.

That said I'm leery of getting stuff from them and their price point doesn't make me comfortable with the risk.

Your project looks great, Turgon. I've thought of doing something similar for a small force of Minotaurs as part of a combined SM force. The only problems are that the Minotaurs are basically a bunch of dicks who don't play well with others, and, well.. look at the casting of this shoulder pad. Disregarding the flash and bubble hole, but specifically the fact that the ends of both horns are miscast, which shows that PW haven't really lifted their game. It's really disappointing that they haven't made an effort to improve their casting. Maxmini and Kromlech, also from Poland always send out top quality casts, not to mention outfits like Anvil. Puppetswar really do have some of the very best not-40k designs, but their quality control is clearly still ...inconsistent.




Not having a go at you at all, I'm interested in following your blog and seeing where you take the project.

I got a flyer from them, and I was pretty happy with it quality wise. This was a while back now, before the issues and then the resolution. YMMV.

Droids are back for sale.

The change in the head design isn't surprising. Keeping it just different enough should keep GW off their backs.

Hopefully they bring back the elite ones with the staff/sword and shields as well.

They used to come with a selection of additional weapons. Guess that isn't happening.

These are not the droids we're looking for.

Since the entry says

Set contains all parts need to build 5 Cyber Droids and 5 extra heads.

I'd speculate that the original heads are provided as well just no longer pictured (or else why give you 5 extra identical heads)

Well as soon as the super Rippers come out. I will be ordering a set. So as usual I will do a full review. I'm eagerly awaiting that set to hit the store.
