You know... I was literally in the process of doing this. You just saved me forever. My only suggestion would be to make it in a more logical sequence (unless my computer deceives me, I believe this wonderful document starts with the shooting phase?).

Also as a formatting point, it does kinda look like a block of text. Maybe change it a bit for ease of reading?

This is really great work though. I really like it!

I love these sheets, and many of the players I know rely heavily on them to speed up games. Thanks for taking the time to do them! I wonder if you would, in future, be able / willing to format them into an A5 booklet? I know that this is probably a load of work, but it would make for a really elegant thing to flip through at that point. Just a suggestion!

I printed them out at work and used a cutter to slice each page in half (Special Rules into thirds), then made copies of the sliced pages, blowing them up 130%. They upscaled perfectly - no loss of clarity at all.
I printed out copies for each person in my group. They were used EXTENSIVELY last weekend.

Sadly, we're all too old for our eyes to read the smaller text as the document is now.

... but their passengers can. Might be worth adding.

Also it's my understanding that "A unit being Charged may only fire Overwatch once per turn and only if not locked in combat."

On the last page, you might change "Models must remain within 2” horizontally {OR to AND} 6” vertically"

I've added the changes you've suggested to the Overwatch section. However, I've left the coherency as 'and/or' - since models don't have to be in 2" horizontally AND 6" vertically at all times - only one need apply. For example, a squad of five could have four models on ground level and one on the level above and still be in coherency, despite the model above not being with 2" of anyone else horizontally.

To be THAT GUY, if it were really a logical OR then a unit could deploy more than 2" apart so long as they were all on the table (within 6" vertically.) And it seems clear that models more than 6" apart vertically would not be in coherency no matter how close horizontally.

Thank you for taking the time to write this up, me and the Gf are new to 40k, I haven't played since the 90s, and the rules are at sometimes too much to remember all at once when we are trying to learn the game. This is a lifesaver!

Just a regular old 8.5 x 11. Nothing special.

If you went to a print shop, I'm certain they could do a better job with it than I did, for sure!

I think there's a mistake:

Tank Shock and Ram, page 8, step 5: "Enemy units contacted make a Ld test"
The unit affected have to take a Morale test, not a Ld test. Units with fearless wouldn't be affected by Tank Shock because they automatically pass Morale check.

Btw the work you did is AMAZING. Nice one man, thanks for your time doing this

Having got hold of the Dark Vengeance starter set, I have noticed that the WS table in the game's Quick Reference Sheet shows that the chart in V3 was correct...

Attacker's WS 2 : Target's WS 4, result is 4+... not 5+

Also,

Can the Outflank rules actually be added to the relevant page?

Quite importantly the Sniper special rule for 'Against vehicles is S4 unless stated' should be added.

Have we uncovered quite a big rules error? In my eBook version of The Rules, the same columns give 5+ To Hit

Anyone else with the full version / iBook version / Deathstorm version???

It's 5+ on mine, but it makes no sense - all others get 5+ only at double WS+1 (WS1 fights at 5+ only vs WS3, WS3 only vs WS7 and WS4 only vs WS9). So I think it's a typo from the book - it should be 4+

Went down to the LFGS, where I checked an updated rulebook which they use in store.

The V3 table was correct! It appears to be a typo! It should be a 4, which matches the table's pattern.

Is it also worth adding this to the vehicle damage table?

Any Immobilised results suffered by an already Immobilised vehicle instead remove an additional Hull Point.

Wasn't aware of this!

Another error:
Power of the machine spirit...
Your sheets:
- May fire one more weapon than normal at full BS. This must be at a
different unit.

40k Main Rulebook:
In a turn in which the vehicle neither moves Flat Out nor uses smoke launchers, the vehicle can fire one more weapon at its full Ballistic Skill than normally permitted. In addition, this weapon can be fired at a different target unit to any other weapons, subject to the normal rules for shooting.

Just updated these to Version 6

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4104995/Games/7edRef_V6.pdf

- Reorganised the structure so that it goes in (roughly) game order.
- Corrected the mistakes pointed out above.
- Included the Outflank rules in the Reserves section.
- Put the Army-building section at the end, including my 'Battle Forged' diagram that explains Detachments.

Hey,

Great job! Really helpful.

However, i've found one error:

page:
PSYCHIC PHASE
Malediction:
Multiple effects from the same power are
not cumulative

From 7ED rules:
Malediction
Maledictions weaken the Psyker’s enemies by reducing their characteristics or inflicting
special rules that penalise their abilities. Maledictions target one or more enemy
units and, unless otherwise stated, last until the start of the Psyker’s next
Psychic phase. Maledictions can affect units that are locked in close combat. Note that
bonuses and penalties from different maledictions are always cumulative
, but cannot,
unless otherwise stated, take characteristics above 10 or below 1 (or below 2, in the case
of Leadership).

Maledictions can be cumulative. it is in RB and mentioned in some codexes (Chaos Marine Symphony of Pain etc.):
Symphony of Pain is a malediction that targets a single
enemy unit within 24". Whilst this power is in effect,
that unit is at -1 Weapon Skill and -1 Ballistic Skill.
Furthermore, any Attacks from sonic weapon that hit the
target unit whilst this power is in effect are resolved at +l
Strength. Note that the effect of more than one Symphony
of Pain are cumulative
.

It's note, not special rule so i guess maledictions ARE cumulative.

It's not an error. The presence of the word "same" is important.

Examples of codex (advanced) rules overriding basic (BRB) rules are fair enough. This does not mean that the ref sheet is wrong. That is the basic rule. It is true for all powers that do not explicitly override it.

Arbitor, these are great. My group have been using your version 4 sheets, but I'll get everyone updated to these now.

Just one question, my BRB says for craters "Models in crater terrain have a 6+ cover save, regardless of whether or not they are 25% obscured", but the reference sheet says 5+. Not sure if I've got an old version of the BRB, or if I've misunderstood something. Can't quite find anything definitive anywhere else.

Thanks so much for your hard work on these!
