No 3++ with Spear. You want that sweet invulnerable? You need Swords. Also, if you wanna move and shoot, though that's not such a big deal with Custodes.

They still get a 5++, which is better than a kick in the rear. With the added 5++, the Sentinel Blade without a shield is actually a decent option as well. 4 Str 5 AP3 attacks per Guard (5 on the charge and 6 with a Vexilla) isn't terrible.

I agree, though last time I was a minority on these issues so I thought I'd largely keep it to the invulnerable save this time, haha.

Yeah, this whole release seems really lazy. They're also releasing a ton of new factions, only to have 8th come out this summer and likely invalidate 70% of the current codexes out there. Lately, my FLGS has had a migration to 30K, and I had the chance to get Forgeworld stuff at LVO so I gambled and I'm really, really happy that I did. 40K, in my personal opinion is almost unplayable for gamers who play specific factions currently. I think the Horus Heresy is so much more balanced and fun by comparison.
