I just watched someone on youtube reviewing the new (thin)codices after unboxing the Talons of the Emperor box.

Rules for Custodians and Sisters of Silence themselves have changed little.
As for Custodians, even those without Storm Shield have basic 5+ invul. Sadly, they still do not have assault grenades.
The Venerable Contemptor Dreadnought has, obviously, the Venerable special rule with stats same of that of Space Marines.
However, just like its infantry brethrens it can Deep Strike.
The Venerable Land Raider is 10 percent more expensive than basic land raider, but has 5+ invul like Custodian Guard.
In addition, it ignores crew shaken & stunned results and BS5. Needless to say, it also has Venerable Special rule.
The unique detachment for Custodians allows you too also take the dreadnought, and has new benefits.
One of them is allowing your deep striking units to roll only a single d6 when they scatter, and re-roll deep strike mishap table.

Sisters of Silence are now divided into 3 separate units depending on equipment.
The unit with greatblades are the cheapest, the bolter unit same as before, and the flamer unit most expensive.
The most notable change, in my opinion, is that the Sisters' Rhino also has Psychic Abomination special rule for only 10 more points.
So basically if you take a unit of sisters and a dedicated Rhino, you have two units onthe battlefield which can nullify psychics.
Null Maiden Task Force has also received new benefits like Custodians'.
The biggest bonus is that you can add 3" to the range of Psychic Abomination for every unit on the battlefield after the first.
This means that if you take maximum three squads of sisters and three dedicated Rhinos for them, their anti-psychic range increases to 27" when all the units are on the battlefield. I personally think this detachment is the real winner of this release.

Edit : So this is what "getting Ninja'd" mean. Please refer to the reply right above mine.

* Update 1 *

Codex: Adeptus Custodes (found by Modular - gw-fanworld.net)

http://www.blacklibrary.com/all-products/codex-adeptus-custodes.html

Codex: Adeptus Custodes

A Warhammer 40,000 Codex

As part of the Talons of the Emperor, the Adeptus Custodes are the golden claws of the Imperial Eagle, the bringers of Terra’s bellicose vengeance across the galaxy. Their gleaming weapons and pageantry of war incorporate the finest examples of the battle-artificer’s skill. This codex gives you full rules for adding Adeptus Custodes to your Warhammer 40,000 armies.

CONTENTS
– Three datasheets: Custodian Guard Squad, Venerable Dreadnought & Land Raider
– One detachment: Golden Legion Task Force
– Armoury of the Adeptus Custodes and Aegis of the Emperor special rule
– Adeptus Custodes Warlord Traits
– Background for the Adeptus Custodes' return to the galaxy
– A showcase of Adeptus Custodes Citadel Miniatures

DESCRIPTION
The hour of action is nigh. With the surge of Chaos activity across the galaxy and the threat of eternal damnation more real than ever, the Adeptus Custodes have taken their vow of protection to its logical extreme – they will see the destruction of those forces who pose a threat to the sanctity of Terra. Clad in baroque, golden artificer armour and armed with priceless relic weaponry, the Adeptus Custodes make for a magnificent sight. They tower over mortal men; each has the statuesque physique of an ancient hero, close to nine feet in height even without his scarlet-crested helm. On the battlefield they are a force to be reckoned with – with guardian spear and ornate broadsword alike, they cut a swathe through the foe, bringing entire armies of traitors and renegades to their knees with the might of the Emperor himself.

This codex includes the full rules for Adeptus Custodes in games of Warhammer 40,000, including a detachment for adding them to your armies, and rules for mighty Custodes Dreadnoughts and Land Raiders!

Anybody else feeling this is a little lacklustre and shoehorned in, especially when compared to the Talons of the Emperor list Forge World released in Inferno?

At least you can put Custodes and Sisters in transports now.

Yup very lacklustre. Not Codex: Legion of the Damned lacklustre, but lacklustre all the same.

With Sisters being Astra Telepathica faction will they get a dataslate-style Codex with the AM/IA units instead?

I think that's highly likely. So far we have the Primaris Psyker, Astropath, and Wyrdvane Psykers within Astra Telepathica.

If nothing else, maybe we'll find out what the Misericordia rule does.
Kinda sucks that the 40K version of the Custodes get an assault vehicle but the 30K dudes don't.

What the *bleep*, GW? You could have given us plastic jetbikes or plastic grav-tanks, but instead we get a ten-year-old Land Raider kit painted gold?

It isn't even a flying Land Raider.

That doesn't excuse deciding you're going to write a Custodes book and then taking a couple of 10+-year-old vehicle kits that are already used in seven Codexes (eight, with a minor upgrade frame) and then spraying them gold instead of giving them something new/interesting.

I'm curious to see the prices.

Everyone that's currently selling the Custodes and SoS from the BoP box seems to think they own actual gold.

So this is another book for basically one Squad? Plus a dread and vehicle there are rules for in numerous other sources. Should have been Agents of the Imperium content, not fleecing people on a book to use a unit. Just use the WD article, peeps, this is ridic.

Considering most of the Custodes line will be from FW, its nice that they are giving us a way to use all the plastic we have. Im sure FW will eventually even give some of it to 40k.

You are getting worked up over a fill in release, like the Calth stuff when it got released separately. In fact, its a buff to the Custodes. Assault Transports will do them a world of good.

I don't get the inclusion of the Rhino. Custodes are bulky, so they can't even ride in it. Is it just a mobile cover wall for them?

I did not see that. Well, alright then. I could only see the one (two if you count the dude with the Spear in the bottom right). Finally, Sisters of Silence get a dedicated transport.

Looks like I will be needing a bottle of gold spray paint (I need it for Roboute anyway, but you get the idea).

DId anyone else noticed that Custodes are removed from the official page?

Weird... like they were not supposed to be revealed just yet but someone mess things up.

There was probably anot automatic update that was supposed to go through when the Custodes were going to go up for pre-order, but someone made a mistake on the date it should go up. They realized it and took it down.

Ah, there we go, that is why I didn't see that the box included the Sisters, they are painted the bright gold not the bronze they had been depicted in otherwise.

I suppose the draw to this box is the included rulebooks, because there isn't much else added. Price will dictate if I get it or not. If it is $150 USD or less, count me in.

It's probably going to be around $150-$170. Most of their "bigger" bundle boxes have been in that general price range.

Land Raider for $74.25
Rhino for $37.25
Contemptor for $60

You're at $171.50 for just the known portions of the box so far.

I'm going to guess $60 for the Custodes and $35 for the Sisters of Silence.

That's... unfortunate. I wish they'd keep 30k out of my 40k, as I feel the latter's lore is vastly superior.

Well there's clearly demand for Custodes in either setting, so it's worth GW's time and resources.
