That'd be £60 which I find unlikely even by GW standards.

The 5 woman squads are priced the same as a marine assault squad (83nzd), so probably 25 sterling.
Comparing like for like..
Talons set, around £97.50
Custodes squad, £70
Sisters squad, £50
Custodes / dreadnought, £35

Comparison to another model with the same price gives £35 for Custodes, which is actually cheaper than I dared think. If anything their ebay resale value might actually -drop- now.

So UK price on the box is saving of £30 for the models, without the POS Dread. Ah what the hell might as well

If you have a small saw or are very persistent and careful with a hobby knife, you can split the waist from the body and the legs from the waist and repose the lower body, putting the legs on a scenic base so it still stands firm. Arms have a ball joint for posing, then add a few spare parts to up the detail slightly and drill the exhaust vents.
It's an annoying amount of work, but you can definitely repair it's static snapfit pose.

Could do, but I'm more inclined to take the "saving" and order the much superior FW Marine Contemptor body and use the plastic arms with it.

Same as the old days, but in a nutshell, from what I heard today- Yes. Rhino wall of Sisters fame... Square up the rhinos, they end up being portable bunker fodder, and you use them as portable terrain. I told the guy that it was !@#$ cheese, and that we had already been through it before. He shrugged and pointed to the knights.

After I bought the Custodian Guard Squad in Burning of Prospero set, I mixed the squad weapons so that two members have sentinel blade & storm shield and the rest with halberds. However, I'm afraid the official description for Custodian Guard suggests that a single unit cannot mix their weapons, i.e. take either sentinel blade & storm shield or halberds.
"The kit can be used to build 1 of 2 different squads: one armed with guardian spears, the other armed with sentinel blades and storm shields."

Some people just need to bring it up ad-nauseum, or think they're the first to do so...
Boxed set is a steal if you're into it though, Land Raider, Rhino and books for free. Pity that the individual squads are too damned expensive.

Yeah I just don't understand that criticism. Custodes have been part of 40K for ages. They're not new by any stretch.
Anyway, ordered my box. that gives me a solid 20 of each to make units from (I'm thinking 6x2 Spears, 6x1 Sword/Shield, 1 Banner Bearer & 1 Hero), and I can combine the Land Raider, Rhino and spare Razorback I have to make Inquisitorial Raider/R'Backs using the Psycannon turrets I have + icons from the DW sprues.

I ordered the Talons box. 40 custodes, and 10 sisters.
Didnt really need a fifth plastic Contemptor, but the Land Raider and Rhino being essentially free is pretty good.
Thinking of making a 5 man flamer squad and a 5 man greatblade squad for the Sisters. Was tempted to make a 10 man flamer squad, since 10 flamers coming out of a Rhino amuses me... but seems like it would be a giant bullet magnet.
20/10 spear/shields, with the other ten being For Hetaeron Guard, Tank Tribune, the Vexilias... do i wait for the upgrade kit or convert from extra Tartaros fists for my Solarites?

With the jewelers saw and some careful cutting, you can make some Kheres mortis contemptors. The stance doesnt look that bad if its supposed to be a stationary gun platform.
However the double fist contemptors... well, at least Cortuses dont last long, right? :p

Stalwart Space Marine

I just watched someone on youtube reviewing the new (thin)codices after unboxing the Talons of the Emperor box.
Rules for Custodians and Sisters of Silence themselves have changed little.
As for Custodians, even those without Storm Shield have basic 5+ invul. Sadly, they still do not have assault grenades.
The Venerable Contemptor Dreadnought has, obviously, the Venerable special rule with stats same of that of Space Marines.
However, just like its infantry brethrens it can Deep Strike.
The Venerable Land Raider is 10 percent more expensive than basic land raider, but has 5+ invul like Custodian Guard.
In addition, it ignores crew shaken & stunned results and BS5. Needless to say, it also has Venerable Special rule.
The unique detachment for Custodians allows you too also take the dreadnought, and has new benefits.
One of them is allowing your deep striking units to roll only a single d6 when they scatter, and re-roll deep strike mishap table.
Sisters of Silence are now divided into 3 separate units depending on equipment.
The unit with greatblades are the cheapest, the bolter unit same as before, and the flamer unit most expensive.
The most notable change, in my opinion, is that the Sisters' Rhino also has Psychic Abomination special rule for only 10 more points.
So basically if you take a unit of sisters and a dedicated Rhino, you have two units onthe battlefield which can nullify psychics.
Null Maiden Task Force has also received new benefits like Custodians'.
The biggest bonus is that you can add 3" to the range of Psychic Abomination for every unit on the battlefield after the first.
This means that if you take maximum three squads of sisters and three dedicated Rhinos for them, their anti-psychic range increases to 27" when all the units are on the battlefield. I personally think this detachment is the real winner of this release.
Edit : So this is what "getting Ninja'd" mean. Please refer to the reply right above mine.
