Only if they ever said that they didn't just go out and buy die cast cars and smash them up a bit and recast them.

You can make out a faint "Made in..." on the SUV.

Not seeing that on mine. Do you have a clear photo? Not doubting you just curious as my spot check is fairly poor.

They're at a friend's place. I'll try to remember tonight. Maybe the pencil trick will do it.

They claimed that they made them. Regardless, I went ahead and asked them about it and sent them a link to this discussion.

So, I have finally opened my Mars Attacks box, and find that the Grunts that come in the starter have no helmets. Have Mantic stated any plans to ship them with a second wave, or do I need to fill out the missing parts form?

Now showing various models from the previously adandoned projects!

Painting total as of 3429/2024: 56 plus a Deva King statue
Painting total as of 12/31/2024: 107 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain and two walkers and a quad mech and five giants

Only thing I know was that the people who picked it up (ie. Grim) had to get them later. It was supposed to be fixed after that (they were included in my delivery) so if you don't have yours you'll need to fill in a missing parts form I guess.

@JiJ how did you get your box? Retail? Backer rewards? Retail they probably should have fixed the issue and it would be a missing parts survey.

MA basically did one wave, they've just got a couple of books left to get to us.

If you got anything else, they tended to include the helmets for the main box game separately in the KS rewards shipment. Like, loose in the package separately. As in really easy to miss or lose while unpacking. It's a tiny extra thin plastic baglet (sealed) with two stacks of helmets, it's really easy to miss it. If you have any other helmets use them as a reference.

This is the best I can do. It's really faint but there's unquestionably a recess with raised lettering inside, starting with an M.

Gigantic pic ahead.

Has anyone assembled their giant stompy robot yet? I'm wondering what the back tank is for, and whether it's something I should magnetise to swap out with a specific weapon, or just glue straight on.

I believe it *technically* goes with the shrink ray, from what I've heard. But honestly it really doesn't matter, I'm probably not going to use the tank for either Big Stompy, but if I were, I would probably just glue it on. I mean it isn't as if there's a hose that goes from the shrink ray arm to the backpack.

And this is just from what I've heard, it's entirely possible it is intended as an atmosphere tank like the grunts wear.

The tank is for the shrink ray. The shrink ray comes with a vacuum pump to suck in shrunken humans. It has rules in the World War book.

Things to ponder then, thanks!

Is the Mars Attacks: World War ruleset from the latest Mantic MA newsletter included in the KS stuff? Or is it entirely new? The book used to illustrate the article doesn't look familiar at all...

I think I got a couple of those soft back and I know it was in my compendium.

It's in the hardback compendium. It was originally called Mars Attacks Points Battles in the Pledge manager before being renamed to World War and was available for $8 but isn't included in any pledge.

Thanks! I've got the compendium, so that should be ok then. Did they release it as a PDF? And how did Grim manage to get standalone printed copies? /eyebrow

Maybe I didn't then? I thought I had 2 or 3 soft cover books... main game, humanity resists and... I thought it was world war but there's another one I'm forgetting.

Come to think of it... probably was imagining my PDF was a physical book, I only ever glanced at most of the MA books that were beyond the box set.

Yeah there was totally a PDF, that's what I was thinking of. My bad.

I thought we got the World at War as a PDF. Isn't that the one that had rules for using tanks?

I know it's in the compendium like you guys mentioned, but I'm going to have to go dig through all my game PDFs I guess...

I wonder if we'll see PDF rules for their 1st person tournament mode at the Open Day?

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!
