I was thinking of doing some work on a DIY chapter I have had in mind for some time, The Ursamarines, in some ways like the wolves but with a Polar bear totem. I could do with some input regarding colour changes etc ? I was thinking of doing the bolter casing in Ivory, and having harpoons for power weapons. In addition the homeworld is an ICEY death world, and the chapter live under the ice at the sea bottom, therefore specialising in Aquatic assaults.

I don't think there would be that many aquatic battles in the 40k universe

I like the colors just as they are. What's their icon? Interesting idea all around, but while I don't necessarily agree with Smith1 (the galaxy is a big place after all...), I'm not so sure aquatic assaults and polar bears go together. If it was an orca themed chapter maybe, but polar bears do most of their aquatic hunting from above the ice, and orcas vice versa. I guess it means what you mean by "aquatic assault". Regardless, rather than limiting yourself to aquatic assault, maybe you include boarding actions? I think marines with a nautical heritage would be well suited to boarding enemy vessels both on and under the water as well as in space.

Oh ... the polar bear aspect comes from the tribesmen recruited into the chapter .. who live nomadically on the ice ... fighting and being hunted by the HUGE polar bears.

So like the Monastery Fortress is under the oceans, but the natives live on top? (Maybe mineral/natural gas deposits being mined by imperial mining colonies in deep sea?)
And aquatic assaults are rare primarily because modelling a board with two aquatic ships on it seems limiting (at least to me!... although making a water board, with the terrain being the ships could be pretty cool!)
Did you maybe mean amphibious assaults? Like the Orks did on Armaggeddon (built a big ol' submarine to sneak around enemy lines or something, as I recall).
I really like the colour scheme, except for the little black claws at the feet. Good idea, but because they are so contrasting to the rest of the model, it draws the eye and marine's feet are not their wickedest feature! So lose those and it's pretty damn cool (lol punnage!)!

Indeed, its a primitive planet, with barbaric tribesmen living on the evershifting iceflow ...
I am envisioning there must be worlds covered in water (or other liquids) with underwater cities / refineries / anything ... These marines specialise in that environment, Divers basically.

I think that would be awesome. The colors are nifty. The conversions sound great. Go with Polar Bear hides and icons on vets, etc. Harpoons and spears sound awesome. Icey/snowy bases to tie it together.
