Actually, one thing that seems to be the case with the game that others didn't get was that we may control 'a' survivor, but we don't always control the same survivor.
In the example video 2, a settlement was founded with the three combatant survivors and a random six others. As far as I understand, a player may at any time 'adopt' one of those six other settlers to become their fighter.
After all, equipment can easily be passed on from one individual to another, and overall the player simply plays an entity controlling a set of equipment. Your settlement is just a collective "extra life" pool that everyone in the cooperative game shares.
Of course, for storyline purposes, you're playing a separate individual. For gameplay purposes, your individual player "inventory" remains constant even as characters die.
This is how I understand the game from video 2, and I honestly prefer it this way. It'd be annoying to have a character killed off and that player can no longer participate in the campaign until it's over.
As for people comparing this game to a board game MMO... I guess you have never heard of tabletop RPGs? The game rules, randomness, and AI cards just take over the role of the DM.

Okay... I'm locked in at 450... that had better be it... Survivor, Expansions, and a 50 pack of bases. This 1.350 looks like a lantern pinup, and I have no issues resisting the pin ups, so hopefully that's all we'll see from here on out.

Monster is a one-off game, for what it's worth.
Your stock of survivors may exceed 4, but you won't see more than 4 survivors in play at a time, and if a survivor dies, you can pass his/her equipment off to another younger survivor (essentially, you can just use the same model). There's no need to represent more than 4 survivors at a time because of this. You do not need the extra armour sets to play the game, and the only purpose they serve is for use in other miniature games, or for display.
Furthermore, you don't fight other settlements. This game is purely aimed at the confrontation of AI controlled monsters, with each player controlling a character within the settlement.

That is 100% correct. Our gaming group is made up of about 20 rotating people. I've always wanted a singular campaign game where different groups could float in and out of it. By running the game with a settlement and population we finally have a game that makes it MORE simple for us to just play irrelevant of whom happens to be around this weekend.

Plus the single "encounter campaign one offs, and the armor sets. armor sets at the 50 bucks seem to be a great deal. Further reading into the seperate expansions leads me to think that your going to start those particular settlements with either dragon armor or the sun armor. THEN theres the issue of the lion knight/ king.
50 bucks or 25 bucks, these armors are whats holding up progress. Any way of mixing and matching the 5 pack sets?
THEN the last detail that your going to end up constructing the special green knight stuff, but that doesn't contend the fact that your already equipping the survivors with the added stuff you have by that time.
By the time your squaring off with some of those heavy hitters, I can see these guys , say a settlement of 20 with assorted armored sets from each of the packs.
About three or four encounters, it is either going to be death or glory, the way I see this.

Yeah, I've kinda gone overboard now too. I went from €180 to €241 in the space of an hour and will probably get that Spiral Path guy too because its limited...this is very much a case of 'Malibu Stacy has a new hat...' for me.

Well, he made a point of the Messenger of the Spiral Path (henceforth known as Not Kamina) being a person on their first few steps towards becoming a Forsaker. What's more, a lot of what he's wearing comes straight from the Forsaker outfit (the shoes, chains, and animal skulls, along with the tattered cape are all straight from the Forsaker, although the fur pelt is more in line with the Butcher, which is a Forsaker that's completely lost it, as opposed to mostly lost it).
That said, I think that was more of a casual observation and nod to the older KD fluff than anything else.
That said, the Forsaker is still an amazing model and I strongly suggest you get your hands on it. Mine looks great just sitting on my desk, and it's not even painted yet (soon... soon my precious...).

Well, since there's a Forsaker mask gear card included with Not Kamina, there will probably be some considerable fluff concerning the Forsakers at the very least.
As for the Forsaker being a stretch goal, I just don't see it, not with the time left in the kickstarter. We'll probably have to wait for the next KD game to get stuck in with the Forsaker.
Although, based on the Forsaker's fluff excerpt on the KD store, it builds him up as more of a PC, which should be interesting when said next KD project comes to light.

The game is not WYSIWYG; you do not NEED to make a survivor to represent every set and/or weapon combination. You make one that looks cool to your player and they use that. You might want to have them use the starting/unarmored for a while to get into the story, but if they want a character that is wearing Phoenix armor they can do that regardless of the set the character is using. The cards and inventory are going to determine the in-game effects. Really, that's much better since I might not like the look of any armor besides rawhide as a player, but my character certainly wouldn't pass up the added protection of better armor in this world.
So if you LOVE the look of a particular armor, or you know you'll have tons of players, that's when you need to buy more sets. You can likely play the game just fine with the sets you get with the base game and expansions.

The armor sets were said that they were not going to be available after the KS. You want them, you have to get them now.
Have you not seen the expansion info? If not, go look.
Looking hard at 614.... by the way. some are getting 20's, some are getting fives.

That's likely a misinterpretation; they will not be available on their own in a nice convenient package like this and will instead come with their expansions meaning more "wasted" things like another monster and cards as well as a higher price. If you know you like a set, it's obviously best to get them now and save money, but it's not like they will disappear forever once the KS is done.

YEAHHHHHH!!!!!!
We have reached 1.35 million in funding and have unlocked the Pinup Lantern Festival Girl! You can add a plastic version of her to your rewards by increasing your pledge by +$15 or a resin version for +$25.
New Option - Extra Lantern Armor
I have also added the Lantern Armor Miniature Kit as a side option. Each Lantern Armor kit can make 2 male and 2 female miniatures, weapons included! For +$25 you can add another Lantern Armor kit to your rewards and for +$50 you can add a 5-pack, which can make a total of 20 survivors rocking Lantern Armor!
For the $1,400,000 Stretch goal I've got something extra special lined up! I wonder if anyone can guess? !!!!!!
I manage to squeeze out a little bit of extra time and put together a quick photo shoot of Zachary the Survivor! I've added the images to the Kingdom Death: Monster Website, please check em out!
Thank you everybody!!!!! yaaahhh!!!! Last 33 Hours!!!

As i understand it:
The combat phase is intended to be played by four people with one survivor each, apparently six works at a push but the rules may need tweaking for that. Most expansions come with enough armour sets in them to play with four of the corresponding armour (green knight notwithstanding)
"basicly your going to then end up starting the game pretty much out gunning other potential different settlements who, even getting to that point- are going to get owned and not in a good way"
Fairly certain each playthrough only has one pc settlement, you dont go out and fight others.
In short you only need the armour kits if you want to proxy the models for a different game system.

You'd think with only 24 hours to go he'd get the final stretches out a bit quicker! It's at 1.42M now, so if there is a 1.45M stretch it might almost be hit by the time he releases it.
Forsaker at 1.5M (and teasing it now) would send this through the roof...

So the $1,400,000 stretch goal has been reached, but the pic for the model hasn't been shown yet.
Any idea what she is?
So I had to change my pledge, I kept the BF Deluxe Survivor, but I think I'll wait on the expansions since so far nothing in the expansions is exclusive to Kickstarter.
So instead I'm focusing on the resin pinups.
Still at over $500 though!

My guess is the art isn't done yet
we went from sculpts & colour art
to colour art/renders
to line art/ incomplete render (later updated to real pose)
to line art only
so I think adam had a rough outline which be 'blacked out' for the previous stretch, but does not have the full line art yet
(he has been online in the comments since we hit the stretch)
