Your memorial vignettes are very touching. You deserve to take as long as you like in such things. My partner and I foster guinea pigs and hamsters for a small rescue group here - it can be very tough. Positive vibes to you and your wife for being kind humans

Thank you for your kind words and for what you and your partner do, ragsta.

I retired out of a profession that let me see more than my share of the hard parts of the world and nowadays I'm happy to make my small contribution to trying to make things a little better, even if for only one critter.

As an organization I now belong to says: "Sometimes it's hard to do the next right thing, so you have to at least try to do the next thing right."

Rock on, man!

Thanks for looking in, tommygun1918, I greatly appreciate it.

Some progress this week, not enough until tonight to be worth photographing and posting, but now all the major basecoating is done on the Lightnings and the arms are attached:

The guy in the left front is the squad leader; unfortunately he is from a different printer than the others from Etsy and is 28mm, although not stated ion the description the others must be 32mm. I figured to place him on a rock, or vaulting a tree trunk or something to give him height (and heroic-ness) and blend in better. I also reckon to scratchbuild him a katana for that empty hand,

I'm having the problem of figures from different printers coming in at different sizes, even when stated they are 28mm (but are 32) or not stated at all but described as 'compatible with common gaming figures like GW' and aren't. I recently bought a squad of Sisters of Battle from the same printer I've purchased from before (the pictures are earlier in this blog): the first time they were 32mm, this time they are 28mm. The difference is too great to be able to use them together, so I'm fixing to sell them off and try to find the right ones.

I tried to get a little closer in that last shot to show the hoses connecting the gas masks to the respirator tanks- I used some blue color changing paint dry-brushed onto a flat black bae to giv ethe impression of oily, rubbery, chemically-stained equipment: I think it turned out pretty cool. In this angle, with this light, it looks purply.

More follows soonest. Thank you for looking in.

Thanks much for looking in and the kind words, Paddymick!

I still have raw video that I want to make into a short 'Star Trek TOS' type intro- just need to find that mythical 26 hour day.

The next batch of Space Samurai are nearly done- I'm into the washes stage and then there is just basing left to do. Believe it or not, their backpacks are taking a surprising amount of time, they have so much detail. I've used four different colors so far and two washes and ain't done yet.

I've still some Doom Pixie pieces to put together, but the maker still isn't doing any more just at the moment, although they have started doing conversion bits (replacement heads and tails for adding to other figures) and they do some Space Marine type pieces, so I'm hoping they build themselves back up into doing the full range again- preferably with new additions!

The only other thing I'll throw out for now is I'm having to be much more careful which resin printing figure makers I buy from- a lot aren't careful, or don't know, that 28mm and 32mm are not inter-mixable. I recently bought a squad of the Artel W Sisters of Battle from the same manufacturer as the figures I bought previously. But the old ones are 32 and the new 28mm and they can't be mixed at all. I'll have to try to sell on the 28mm ones and try to find a supplier that can correctly describe what they're selling to build up the detachment I've got going.

Anyway, the Space Samurai will keep me busy until the Doom Pixies start getting made again, and then more Doom Pixies for everyone!
