GW: "Come see the new crap we got during Baltimore Games day! Eleventyone!!11!11"

Huron Blackheart: "Gimme five, you jive assed-turkey-wonder bread lookin'-peckerwood!"

Chaos Termies: "As you look upon the the inviting photograph, you may notice that we are the only thing of note. Dont be fooled by the rest of the photograph, as the rest is just a space filler of models you have seen before to make it appear action packed. Except for Huron, he is one hard pipe hitting nigerian"

I expect a nice Chaos showing at the Balt. GD. Hoping to see the plastics up close. The possessed pictures in the WD are very promising. They gotta have something to keep the folks coming. A $40 ticket doesn't sell itself.

Thats funny, neither does a GD.

Though the combat patrol tourney in chicago is terribly tempting. Still, not really worth the $40.

The new Termies look nice.

Huron looks like ass. His face is almost as bad as Lucius'. I'll need to see him from another angle.

I can see one new head amongt the Chaos Marines there. Way to show off the new sprue there GW.

The amusing part about the photo though is the one guy on the bike at the back. Is he just waiting patiently for everyone to get out of his way?

Other than plastic and more posable, they look exactly like the metal ones. Again, dont see a good reason to change....

Chaos Biker 1:   IN HINDSIGHT PERHAPS WE COULD HAVE DONE A BETTER JOB OF COORDINATING THIS ASSAULT!

Chaos Biker 2:  NONSENSE!  IT'S MORE CHAOTIC THIS WAY!  AND THAT SUITS US JUST FINE BECAUSE WE ARE CHAOS AND THAT MEANS WE LIKE THINGS TO BE CHAOTIC!!!  RAAARGH!!!!

Chaos Biker 1:  I hate you.

I think that thingamajig on Hurons hand might be related to his special attack:

Huron Blackheart:  Nobody wants a war.  Ahehehehe... if we can't do business, why, we'll just shake hands and that'll be it...

The new termies do look nice - good, big and killy. The CSM look about the same, except now with more horns, and Huron's flamerfist pose is bad bad bad. IF I somehow had to use him, I'd file down the palm detail and paint on a nice PAY UP SUCKA ala Jesse James instead. Because you know he'll cost $20+. His little friend is also pretty dissappointing, as well as apparently painfully constipated.

I haven't kept up to date on Chaos rumors much at all but what is the little yellow toad looking thing supposed to be to Huron's lower left? His little dog Toto?

H, there are TWO new heads in that batch. You are familiar enough with the sprue...you should know that (they are back left and front right). Still, there isn't a ton of new CSM Troop plastic...though based on the other WD images, there are new chests as well.

Archaeo, it's a Hamadrya (something). It's been in his profile since 1996. I have no idea what it is or what it does.

carmachu, the design is the same, but the pieces are different. Some of the legs and torsos in that image are new, and they are sized properly. The loyalist termies didn't change much either. I consider the 1996 Chaos Termies some of JG's better models. No complaints in their appearance (having the plastic Chaos Termi Lord helps...that's a nice set of extra new bits as well for all of the models).

And yeah, Huron is an interesting concept but not all that well executed. Maybe he does look better from other angles. I agree his face sucks, but I do like his excessive bionics. I agree he'll be $20, so I doubt I'll even get one for parts. Maybe second hand.

The heads down the front looks like the head from the vehicle sprue. The only one I can say for sure is new is the one up the back.

I actually like the fact that the Termies look identicle to the current ones - horned heads and all. I'd've hated it if they'd changed the style. Even the heavy flamer is the old style heavy flamer, not the new ones.

there's probobly not a reason to change, any more than there was a reason to switch when the new loyalist termies came out.  This kit fixes the biggest problem with the CSM termies: that awkward, trying to fit on a 25mm base look.  I've been holding off on the termies because I just couldn't get into their look.

And seriously, isn't everybody happy that they'll fit with the old ones, rather than replacing them wholesale?

The terminators are significantly larger than the old metal ones.  They are the same size as the loyalist, taller with the spikes, just like Fletch in his Afro.   Any time an old metal is redone in plastic like this is a good thing in my book, so much easier to convert tese boys than the old metals.

So long kiddies, always brush your teeth!

Isnt hard to fix. cut the tab, file flat, glue on the bigger base. I've been doing it with metal ones.

Problem is, apart from them supposedly being bigger, they look identical. I would've liked a few extra bits and bobs at least, a couple new heads, maybe a weapons redesign here and there.  I Have more than enough termies gaming wise ( i started in the hobby as the 2nd ed chaos codex came out and have been collecting chaos ever since - old git credentials, i know) and they are great looking, but it would've been nice (and far more chaotic) if we could have more variation for modelling purposes.
