Your wallet hates you all ready LOL  Those Chaos dwarfs are pretty dam amazing plus I have quite a few of the originals as well, but to make an army out of it would be a costly affair.
Dave I see your point, we have driven the success of GW and in the process created the company that it is today, however much we bitch and moan we still continue to buy from them.
So they must be doing something right even though we don't like it, plus even the small independent companies 80% of parts produced are designed to be used with GW minis or gaming.
You just cant beat them.

I would have liked it if GW canned the LOTR line and launched Warhammer 30k from the regular product line instead, I think it would sell better, but that's just my opinion really  An all-Plastic pre-heresy Imperial Army? Come on..we'd all jump at that

yeah yeah..3 more movies....I know, but The Hobbit stuff would be best if it were a Mordheim-type skirmish game, since it's more of an adventure story than the epic-scaled battles of LOTR...I dunno.

Dave 30k pleas explain I am feeling a little blonde, as for scrapping the LOTR line no chance GW cash cow that got more new customers through the door than any product before.
They are kicking of in stores all ready in build up to the Hobbit being released, aggressive sales I believe  BUY BUY BUY

The Horus Heresy is 10,000 years before 40k, so by my math, 40,000-10,000=30,000 LDD
Yeah Yeah, but how do they sell a different Gandalf mini? How are they going to create army books that are different? Hobbits don't raise armies! It just seems like they would have to just release different sculpts..I dunno, It'll be interesting to see how the whole Hobbit thing works at GW.

that primarch is looking really cool childe... i can see why this one would be a special treat for everyone^^... the way he barges through those marines...lol...
and a 30k product range... wow... the main stupid thing (among others) was that the LotR line was not the same scale as GW´s other stuff... thats why there is so much hate out there... if they had done it heroic style... i wouldn´t be arguing...

Thanks for the obvious statement Dave I meant in what setting would this take place and the general look of said races 
I don't think all the minis in the range were that bad, but some were pretty dreadful I do agree, and trust me they will find a way to make new models to sell

That model will be available to buy before christmas... is part of their HH range...
They are also doing a Loken Vs. Abaddon diorama which comes from their Large Oval base also.

as well as:

If they have done those, you can guarantee they are doing the others too.
