I feel bad for not getting a chance to take out my minis.. but after reading the great Blanchitsu article I decided to try and use a medium of art I never have tried before.. watercolor.. these are the first 2 watercolors I've ever done.. ever, C&C is always welcome..

cool looking... what did you use for the lines? did you do them before or after the watercolors?
the first one tho has a bit of a problem in his hip region... very unmanly like.. far too narrow that´s what i am saying
and the scope wilding arm has a bit fishy pose... but the medium you chose fits your talent mate... really a nice flow of colors!
and well blob sure compensated the earliers guys hip region for the both of them

Nice Work Rogue! I think an Airbrush would fit into your hand no problem dood! It's criminal for you to not have one, you already understand how to lay the color down effectively without overdoing it, that's really the hardest part to grasp about watercolors.

Thanks for all the kind words guys, and I agree the proportions on these guys are bad, but they are only about 6inches or so each, I did a nice large one in art class today (penal leagonaire) but I dont have it with me.. well dave i kinda had an airbrush back in pa, since my sister was living with me and she had one...
lunch, then update.. then paint, look what the new WD has done to me!

Personally I find it better, its now high end and competes with the like of some Gaming magazines. I has some nice pullouts and features like terrain, what the WD team have painted, conversions, kitbashing etc. Its modern but feels like the original WD's too. I would like to see GW produce WD as the original one, so to include other companies work... the reason I say this is it'd make GW more money, and hopefully mean they could lower their now rediculous prices...

Well, there is a lot of hate towards GW, and a lot of it is justified, but if you think about it, their anal control of their IP and their predatory pricing policies only work because we keep buying the stuff from them. And we keep doing that because they keep making stuff that we want to have. From a business perspective, I think that sort of behavior has actually helped in the long run. What other company out there keeps so many products current and in production without much fear of obsolescence? I mean, despite the annual cost raise, they have a dizzying number of products always in-production and in-stock. Sure we bitch about the rule changes every few years, but 3rd and 4th editions just sucked ass, we all agree on that, but overall, they have added a helluva lot more new products than they have nerfed in the last 10 years. I can't think of any other mini company who even has the same products as they did a decade ago.

Very true, very very true... tis a shame they have capitolised on the the exclusiveness of the hobby but such is life.
I know I'm not going to be starting any armies anymore, just finishing old ones off. I can't afford new ones anymore tbh... the only one I am even considering starting from scratch is Chaos Dwarves... but with them being FW and resin, I just dont hve the strt up for it anymore...

Yeah I know...You have to buy a $75 FW book just to get the rules for the Chaos Dwarf stuff, then like you said, everything is then FW resin, except for the strange 1 regular GW product, that cannon that basically is powered by souls...which they just re-released in Finecast.
