Worth pointing out that January's releases contain a Shasvaasti pack, so it's likely those to be discountinued models are getting repackaged together

New McMurrough

And the furries rejoiced! Group scritch, everybody!

Lol. It's a nice model and a remake of one of the three models I first remember seeing for Infinity personally (the other two being orcs and the sikh commandos/character). Did the original date back to first edition or second? I remember seeing it during second initially.

Also heads up cause I noticed last night - Infinity are doing that product removal thing again

Honestly surprised to see the Shasvestii stuff going in December as much of that was only recently revamped as a line and those are not old models.

Maybe they are getting a repack? Would fit their previous Support packs, no?

Ahh good point on them bundling up to a new support pack! That would make more sense indeed - its just I now CB has removed stuff before - heck Aleph lost a bunch of their newer Phoenix group models semi-recently.

Yeah, this stuff has been in an odd place in terms of SKUs for a while. Some kind of repack to bring it more in line with the rest of the revamped line makes sense.

Wasn't that supposed to be a big part of the point of the Code One initiative/line?

The Morat redesign is the second worst decision Corvus Belli has made.

The first was switching to siocast

What bad experiences have you personally had with the siocast models?

I don't have any siocast, I know from comments and reviews that the cleanup is like PVC, I'd rather have metal + it's heavy.

I wonder if that's still true for the newer Siocast Hard formula that most are switching to.

Ive only had the siocast for the small shotguns on wheels that come with Fiddler and the Zeta TAG.

Mine were very well cast and I had no personal problem at all.

One of my friends got a siocast Gator and his looked pretty rough after he tried to clean it up, but not sure on how it looked before the cleanup was attempted.

I am actually excited on not having so much paint chip on these larger minis, but definitely agree that they need to get the consistency up before moving more to it.

Glory is fleeting. Obscurity is forever.

Thanks for the replies regarding Siocast.

Update for this month with December releases including the previously posted furry and a robot in disguise. No Diablos in 2022 though Nomads do get some remakes/love. :(

The Roadbot is a neat concept, but the bipedal sculpt could have looked a bit more dynamic, akin to the concept art. Given that it's a robot, converting the pose should be easy though, so I'm probably going to pick one up. Locking the Sidebot behind this kit is a bad old CB move.

MC Morrough looks weird to me, but I can't really put my finger on it. Duroc and even the old dog warriors seem like better sculpts in comparison.

Morans look really nice imo, not too flashy, but taking their little cape/coat away does detract from the new designs imo.

Scots Guard look solid to me.

Lei Gong is very dynamic and I hope that won't impede his practicality on the table too much.

Morats are whatever to me, I don't like most of their new designs. Taryots look fine but not spectacular, especially the head look strange.

The old version always looked a bit more cartoony to me and this one does as well compared with the dog warriors of the past couple of years. I just assumed they were purposely continuing that. The face is a bit off though compared with other releases (both anthropomorphic and normal) as it looks like a traditional 90's hand sculpt moreso than a digital 3d model one to me.

Yeah, that's a good point. Likely a deliberate design decision but it does look somewhat out of place.

What is the starter set for these figures?

They have really come a long way from when I played back a few years ago.

I've got a couple of base forces still in the back room, can you just jump right back in, or are there any updated cards for the old figures available?

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

The latest starter is Operation blackwind (ALEPH vs Haqqislam). These figures mostly work for Ariadna, Nomads and O12. You might still find Operation Crimson stone which is a starter starring the first 2 , though it's technically no longer produced

Yes, these are really two standout sculpts despite their very restrained design.

What bad experiences have you personally had with the siocast models?

I personally have not touched an Infinity model since I got the Polaris team. That F$%$#^g bear broke so many times in every spot you can think of. I've been building models for nigh on 40 years now, people pay me to assemble their models on occasion. That stuff is the most brittle crap. The detail was fine, no flash to speak of. But glue it to a base.... no way boss, gonna break right here on my ankles, and again on my ankles, pin it, fine I'll break further up the leg, corner of the rock hanging off the base... broken. Hammer, broken, Shotgun, broken. Never again will I purchase a Siocast model.

I hadn't thought about that problem though I should have. Usually I worry about miscasts and mould lines with resin. I recall Siocast initially had two material types and that sounds more like the harder one that is supposed to hold more fine detail as opposed to the more flexible one.

I think those are the to "base" formulas that you can buy but people can mix things to get their own blend. I don't have any infinity Siocast but I have Thermoplastics from Reaper (which I think are Siocast), sio cast from Redbox (which is more bendy), and then thermoplastics from Flying Frog games and I believe some from Wyrd, that I just got and really looks like it, and they're all quite different but none are brittle. The stuff from Flying Frog Games is really good. I think people would be really surprised if you picked one up, not knowing the material, and finding out it was nylon basically as durable resin is the best description I have for those two models from them.

I can understand Justyn's frustration with the brittle siocast -- I would be annoyed to if I got something like that. But so far I haven't had any experiences like that across 4 companies now.
