You are quite correct, I didn't see your post!
I'll second this, each little square = one inch which is roughly 2.5 cm. (big squares 5" or 13cm approx) Its easiest to see by comparing the heights as the no. of inches is written in along the side.
For me, this means my 9" (23cm) tall stompa is a little too big to be the standard one. I'll have to add a belly gun and big magnet (as per 4yr old wishes) and loads of extra gubbins and call it a mekboy stompa.

There is an attitude that not having an insanely optimized, one shot, six stage, omnidirectional, inevitable, mousetrap of an assassin list army somehow means that you have foolishly wasted your life building 500 points of pure, 24 karat, hand rolled, fine, cuban fail. That attitude has been shown, under laboratory conditions, to cause cancer of the fun gland.

Yep, mullet_steve was quite right. You could turn your 9" stompa into a supa stompa as well

And remember, that chart is from Da Gargant Owner's Club, which hasn't really been updated since 3rd edition, and takes most of its info from Epic and Epic Armageddon. The plastic stompa kit they released is about a foot tall.

orks dont really care about size. (thats what she said....)
the chart i would say is merely a rough guideline that imperials use to classify and separate ork vehicles they encounter, and many they see must blur the line.

OK, consider me insane. I just started planning my kill-kruiza. For simplicity's sake I think I'll just scale it out to one small square = 2cm (so 1 large square = 10).
Off to Hobby Lobby tomorrow to buy 8 billion metric tons of foamcore. Automatically Appended Next Post: OK, initial planning complete!
I will build the basic superstructure out of simple geometric shapes. I don't have a functional scanner so you'll just have to bear with a description. The central body, or spine, of the ship will be a rectangle 120 centimeters long by 60 cm tall, and 40 cm wide. Now I know that at first glance this sounds skinny (guesstimate that 40 cm wide is about 1/5 or 1/6 the length), there will be many gubbins for engines and weapons and the like protruding off the sides. This superstructure will be the platform for all the gubbins to be built off of. At either end of the central body will be a cube jutting out, which we shall call Tab A (the front) and Tab B (the rear). The tabs will measure 20cmx20x20, and form a join location for other components.
The tail section will be 90 centimeters tall and 70 centimeters long, 30 centimeters wide. Everyone should be familiar with the shape of the tail from the front page of the thread, and I hope everyone remembers graphing equations in algebra 2 in high school... the angle at the bottom of the tail will hav a rise of 30 centimeters with a run of 55, while the top angle will have a rise (or fall as the case may be) of 10 cm and a run of 40. And if I got those terms wrong, I sucked at algebra... I was too smart and never paid attention, I just winged it (refuse to say I wang it) on my way to a B.
The head, or front, of the ship will be the hardest to describe, because it will flair back at 5 angles. Suffice ti to say I will just build it and show you photos, cause it's late and my brain is already planning a coup d'etat. The basic dimensions of the head at their largest (remembering that it will obviously taper from small in the front to larger in the back) will be 120 cm long, 65 cm tall and 70 cm wide. The head will overlap the body by about 15 cm or so, so all three added together shoudl be about 375 cm, before gubbins.
Holy feth I am insane...

More work done. Observation tower finished, complete with huge Goff Glyph and grot-installed armor plating. More photos on the thread listed below.
Check out this thread http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/383812.page to see some of the other stuff I have sitting around my worktables.
Two related topics, check out my nacent (meaning brand spankin' new) blog at http://dawerkshop.blogspot.com/ , and I would gladly pay anyone for any spare Ork vehicle bits, some select IG vehicle bits, and other interesting components I might be able to use in Da Werkshop. PM me if interested.

Ohhh dear I appear to be getting carried away again, I've drawn out the skeleton on autocad and the sheet needed for laser cutting is about 190mmX280mm for the wings and 220mmX 480mm for the main body and tail... or in inches its somthing like 7,1/2 X 11 inches and 8,1/4 X 18 inches now to ask Warmill how much it will cost for them to laser cut it for me, On the plus side I got my mates to steal a sheet of 1mm plasticard for me it's only 1.5M bu 0.7M

Nahh I mean steal as the boss dosen't care because he orders it in such large quantities that one sheet dosen't matter, they are professional modelmakers and they use this stuff for all sorts of silly crap... a sheet that size probably cost him about £2.00.
