erm right i kinda fell into doing this as i have been watching this other guys project blog and he has been making some awesome stuff for orks. like flying saucers and orkzillers and this crazy flying ork machine thingy. so i was inspired by him to do this. his link is below and if you like what you see here subb his blog, seriously its really awesome.
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/356788.page

anyway onto my stuff the stuff i am working on at the moment is below

ok so honestly, i knocked this up one night woke up thinking "what the hell is this" i reckon i was thinking deff dread, but its sort of just been idle since then. im not sure what to do with it ,if indeed anything at all and yea, kinda just need some feed back. but anyway next.

ok this above is my version of a grot tank or warbuggie. its a bit cheeky to be a warbuggie as its so small but i think i could get away with it. i am working on anotherone as well but its going kinda slow as well. anyway below is another pic

ok now below is some kustom kans i have already done. this is just erm, you know to erm, .... o w/e i dont need a reson to post them

COMMENTS WOULD BE GREAT, SUBB IF YOU WANT, AND I WILL BE MAKING SOME SQUIGOTHS SOON SO DONT GO AWAY.
or keep your eyes peeled w/w you want. and btw i do really recomend the blog posted at the top. it is farly new but it already has cool stuff on it.

Wondering why you used Lego parts from discontinued sets, but hey, your choice.

Other than that, I really like the vehicles, very orky and mekky. Maybe you could add a bit more dakka, as I can see it's got lots of melee weps but lacking a bit with the ranged side of it.

you could seriously benefit from plastic-card -more than anyone i've seen- really! It's cheap, easy to work with and from the look of things you could have used 2sheets [roughly $4] to do all your meks. The finished product looks great btw, but i think they need square and hexagonal bolts & screws.

The reason why i use the lego parts from old sets is because no one misses them when i use them . that and i am not made of money, so i cant go out and buy new toys all the time, so i ryclycle old ones.

honestly i have no idea on where i should daka it up. and with what. at the mo its a dread with 3 comat arms, a skorcha and a kustom force field. i dont know what else to give it. :O surgestions

yea, i am aware of plasticard but i have never come across any tbh. but if its that cheap i will defonatly look into it. and yea i agree on the bolts front. i can never be bothered to add them though.

Ok now away from responce posts.

since yesterday.... liturally. i decided i was going to make a "big squiggoth" this was much due to a moment of inspiration from another prject blog. but anyway, i was thinking at the time triceratops with howda's. went to the shops this morning.... turns out they are around £7.50 each for decent sized ones. so i began to slowly walk out of the shop looking quite disappointed indeed.
then just as i was leaving i saw a sale sign. wondered over, it was a sale on toy elephants woo. so i bought my self 2 toy elephants instead. got home and began working. pictures below. im setting it up with a kannon and i have decided to only do one at a time. anyway its a work in progress, and any comments would be great.

the elephant with ork rider

the elephant after some plasic surgery

the elephant after more work, and the addition of a metal jaw

added nostrills

added howda and blingage

shot of just the howda. with its kannon and gun cockpit

comments much appreciated. SUBBSCRIBE!

I was more hinting at the fact that some people will buy those for quite a pretty penny so you can afford more grimdark goodness.

Anyways really good start to the stompa so far. Like how the elephant head magically turned into a T-Rex head.

:O i did'nt know they are worth anything :O...... oh well tbh, i would rather use them to create original kans and dreads rather then buy GW models. just that way inclined i guess. and the elephant head, honestly i did'nt even plan it, t just sort of occoured . i like it thoygh. im just going to continue on working on the body and trying to mke it all more spikey.

first of all, im going on a crappy holiday for a week so there will be a gap in progress on here for a while. that said i did some work on the squiggoth today and i think its looking pretty good. pics below.

yea and thats what i did today. ok so recent news, ive been looking at the apoc formation for the "squiggoth battle herd" and yea it looks pretty epic. for those that dont know its basically 3+ squiggoths of any type plus 100 points, and then you can declear a squiggoth charge, which meams they run 2d6 and then gain 1+ attack for that turn. oh and they can make assult moves after this run, so i guess its more like a fleet move, but anyway basically this means that when used and they assult a unit, they have 2+ attacks to there normal 2 attacks. thus making them quite mean on the charge. so basically im going to finnish the two models i have now, do another and then look into doing a gargantuan. but yea just an idea.

COMMENTS GREATLY APPRECIATED, and if you sub leave a comment just saying subbed or something. thanks

Looks like broken plexiglass. I've used bitz of it myself, on occasion. The chunks are very...Orky, in a way. Though perhaps better suited to wood or stone than metal, in texture and shape.

just had a look and i have seen the finnished product in the gallary before but the project blog is cool. that said if i was making a gargantuan i would'nt want to make it in the same way as someone else, i would defo want mine to be original in everyway. but it is a cool thread, like the tusks on it a lot, and the howda. thanks for the sub as well.

mullet_steve wrote:I am wondering what is the stuff your using as plasticard?

Anvildude was right it is plexiglass smashed up in to orky pieces. im using it because its what i have hanging around and i like the edges you can get on it, they look all smashed and broken. which is great as i do deathskulls.

now if you have actually read the text on the previous post you would know im on a crappy holiday in cornwool... woo.
so obviously i cant do anymodeling or painting as all my stuff is at home. so i have been sketching quite a lot, mostly tyranid stuff but i did this sketch of my squiggoth this morning. considering i was'nt working from the actual model i think it looks ok.

thanks for all the coments much appreciated

Hey - I understand - I practically breathe that philosophy for my Orks (though, no Squiggoths currently planned...) - just thought I'd share it in case you hadn't seen it because I find all of these threads great for picking up new techniques or ideas - sometimes not even related ideas, but sparked off other's work

Looking forward to seeing your progress once you get back.

IM BACK
and back to making stuff, over the holidays i was thinking... "i want 3 squiggoths to make a herd, but they all have a 10 model transport cap, so why dont i built stuff to go in them as well "
then that lead to me thinking, what could i make that is big and strong enough to control a Big Sqiuggoth.... Nobs, and not just any, the most no nosense Nobs around, Goffs.
so basically im going to have my herd or at least one of my squiggoths as a goff freebooter squiggoth. i think this should work ok within the rest of my army as i already have a free booter deffcopter unit. so yea it will be nice to have bad moons, goffs and deathskull elements. but anyway to the pictures.

ok this is the first one i made, its a Nob with waargh banner and bigchopper.... i figred the waargh banner was pointy enough to be used as a big chopper as well another pic below

in this pic you can probs see he is missing a leg.. that is intended and i am thinking about making him a peg leg

ok this is another Nob with big chopper/club. the club is made from 2 marine pads back to back and then with loadsa pointy stuff shlapped on for good measure. i also decided that being in a deathskulls warband, the best place to keep your wepon is on you at all times... liturally. this lead to the axe arm.

NEXT

ok this is my fav one so far.

its made using mostly marine terminator parts. i think it looks pretty sweet. more pics below.

with this one i figred i could have him either as a power claw or a big chopper depending on situation, but for something i knocked up in about 30mins i think there all looking ok.
the plan is to have a unit of 5 with 4 big choppers, eavy armor, a painboy and a waargh banner, adding up to a total of 170 points.
should be awesomenes its self.

oh and i also added some bolts to the squiggoths howda by rolling green stull and then cutting it with a scalpel. pics below.

OKS LAST BIT.
if you have read all of this thank you very much, infact thanks if you just looked at the pictures.
comments much appreciated as ever, and subscribers thanks for taking an intrest. untill next post

ok so i kinda coukd'nt sleep at all last night. so i revised for about 2 hours and then started doing some modelling untill the early morn. so this is just a baby update from what i did last night.

so i was traulling through what few orks i have left, and i came across the fellow below, he will be a nice addition to my Nobs unit me thinks and i will be keeping with tradition and giving him a big choppa .

NEXT!

another thing i did last night was look at my grot tank... i looked at the rules, i looked at it, i looked at my army, and came to the conclusion it was a waste of potentail. so i got to building away and it became a kan.
this is the first of my new kan unit called the MACKANIC MONSTAZ. so far i have 2 sorta made, pics below.

This is the first one i did, working fromt he grot tank shown earlyer. i think its looking nice but i will probs be adding bolts and stuff. im giving the entire unit kustom mega blastas as it has recently come to my attention they are, well quite good really. and i have the points, time, and pieces to make them so why not ay. anyway second kan shown below.

Ok now my deffdread "stompy" has been idle for a while now so i decided its time to do some work on him. so last night i added bolts. did it in the same way as on the squiggoth as well, pics below.

and well that was my yesterday night and sunday morning. im thinkings its about time to paint "stompy" and my 1st squiggoth.
almost forgot did some work on the second squiggoth as well, cut off its face ect. pics of that will be up later. below is just the elephant model with orky rider.

ok thats it for now, comments would be great, i will usually reply individually and yea
WAAAAAAAAAARGH

seems quiet on the blog.... too quiet.
anyway did some work on one of my deffcopters i already had. i was basecoating the sguiggoth and the deffdread and while they were drying decided to touch up the copter a bit.
before and after shots below.
BEFORE

As you can see looking a bit tired and messy.
AFTER

i thought, "he is a mek freebooter in a deathskulls warband.. if he needed some bits he would get them from a loota.. and they probally were 'found' somewhere else" so this is why goth plates on the front.

looking much better, although the new kopter is making the evilsunz one i have look a lil run down... anyway ill look into that later.

oh and i here are some pics from the squiggoth i was working on earlyer. got rid of the trunk and ears.

oks so since i repainted the kopter i looked at another model i have im not so happy with.

its glaring at me from the shelf begging to be redone or touched up in someway. so yeah that will be soon. i was thinking about giving it more daka as well, like something to represent the "deth arsonal" in imperial armor book 8 (120" range, str 9, ap 3, heavy 3d6) anyway.
more stuff later... (it seems i am working too fast for coments, or people are looking and not commenting, either way its more about the modeling and making then the reinforcment from comments... still appreciated though )

I would love to see plexi glass or plasticard teeth bolted onto the front of that stompa , you could trace the shape of the painted pieces to cut out then roughly cut the mouth out to be replaced by some led lights and more barrels and rokkits for added dakka then reapply the teeth as lumpy chunks and the eyes and eyebrows aswell,,, made of win

lol, sounds really cool, but the first thing i thought was "stompa pumpkin" as its hollow and full of lights. i would soooo do that but im running out of gun barrels and i seriously dought i could muster enough to fill the mouth up enough. im thinking about changing the design anyway to make it more deathskully so change the face into a skull to go with my other dreads. good idea though .
