This will not help the situation but might be highlarious. See if you can get ahold off the book "Let the galaxy burn", a collection of 38 short stories published sometime during 4ed (which was Daves prime it seems). Lend it to him and tell him to read the one called "The Fall of Malvolion".

The book has been out of print for many years so I guess it's fine reading this one in a pdf, though I think a little bit of the impact is lost when it's not in the BL published book format.
