Is/was the Potter game going to be the same/similar ruleset to BMG?
I cant see that working.
Different people writing the rules. English guy this time.... His name's slipped my.mind, the guy who wrote The Walking Dead All Out War.

So Latham just said on his Twitter account that he's flying out to KM today.
The words coming from the semi- official people who run the facebook pages have claimed the reason for the delay in the HP release is Warner Brothers and that the game is good to go.
Sooo.... why's the rules writer having to go to KM?
I'm not hanging out for the HP game, but the amount of double speak and contradictions that hang around the FB groups is exceptionally tiring.

He also wrote the magic book for BMG, which has been poorly handled to say the least. Could be that he's coming in to make some fixes to that, or could alternatively be working on updating the BMG vehicle rules to 2nd edition (he wrote them too from memory, although he's listed in Flash/Arrow as an editor only)

Could also be for a press release, photo op, meet executives from warner.

Going to KS, sounds to me like KM has no idea how many copies to make. Given the reception of the Suicide Squad set, which sold well to start but still has hundreds of copies lying around, a KS campaign for Potter would ensure they have a fan base ready for purchasing.

based on the number of figures could it be Imperial Assualt style game. Variable layout campaign. I thought it would be odd to set up as a table top combat game like BMG
I'm thinking that Imperial Assault is a good example here. Though probably without the campaign progression / exp elements.
EG Imperial Assault had a tournament focused skirmish gameplay mode that, although took place on a board, played more similarly to an objective based skirmish game.

There's definitely been a push lately for board based skirmish gaming. I'd not be surprised if the idea has circled around the industry conventions and gotten a lot of traction. This would be more surprising if not for Shadespire, Aristea, and Godtear.
I'm very wait and see on it, but in some ways this is looking more likely to see play than what I assumed it would be. Still dependent on a bunch of factors though.

Unless there's a rule about using external scenery in the game KM better have a good excuse for not telling the people sharing their HP terrain projects on the FB page that they won't be usable.

This another Mark Latham project, remember. I think a better analogy might be Walking Dead: All Out War. That was KS initially with a store release also, plus was very much a hybridisation of board and miniature gaming.

KM's calling it an "Miniatures Adventure Game". Jump to 6:20. I'm seeing a team vs. team miniature skirmish game on a grid. Are these resins or mock-ups with renders??
Boards look good as generic fantasy terrain boards for D&D and other griddy games.

Come on. Sometimes i want a company to act like a company. Have faith in your project and launch it. So sick of seeing kickstarters for companies that have been around forever. I have never trusted that kickstarters deliver on time and i loose interest in the game while waiting.
I was excited for this now not so much.

Chairman Aeon wrote: Never could see a war-game where you kill kids as a big positive.
This was always a big issue, but then some of the appeal also comes from it. You play the kids, you try and win by being sneaky and incapacitating the opponent, you play the Death Eaters and people die. Difficult to balance as a wargame, but potentially appealing. That said, this same idea could be executed very well as a board game.
Personally I'm not all that interested, I'm young enough to be part of the generation where HP was huge but it never appealed all that much to me, although I might get some sculpts to use elsewhere if I can
