I want the Grey knights to come, considering we are stirring up a hornets nest we could use the extra firepower, besides it gives me more of a chance to get back to the vendetta alive.

I'm a technichian, not a gunman... I keep guns clean and functional, I don't even think I'm authorized to man any other gun than my laspistol, and that only under extreme circumstances. I am, however, allowed as a field engineer in the aspects of demolition and field repairs. So unless you need any of that, I'll be here, waiting to take care of the Valkyre when you return.

Not that it's my place to question the ways of the Space Marines, but... Stealth attack, wearing power armor? Bolters? Valkyres? Drop pods? Heavy Bolters? You're all just going to gain the attention of the traitors that way.

*Jacobi raises his eyebrow* Dampening an engine is somewhat more complicated than that, if it was possible to make them run silently we'd outfit them with that in the first place. Merely placing a 'barrier' inside of it would just decrease the preformance of it.

I have worked with elysian engineers on demand from the generals and they thought me this trick. Because whenever you deactivate these syastems (he marks the cooling systems.) And channels them to these (the rotors) the rotors will be wet making them less vibrative. But also if you place a metal plate here.... here..... and here (marks some spots which make the most sound.) And channel them to the valkyrie itself the valkyrie itself catches it so it wont make a huge sound.

Your call 1864, and Kaspar, not so fast, I need help with the shuttle. And I think this is the most defended planet as far as planetside goes, and with all these guardsmen, the grey knights and well me, stealth is not really going to happen, besides those AA guns need to be taken out otherwise we will be stranded down there.

But you do realize that deactivating the cooling system will make the engine over-heat and smelt down on you? And wetting the rotors will decrease their preformance considerably, that combined with the engine starting to over-heat will cause you to drop like a rock. As I said, if there was a simple and effective way of making the Valkyres go silent, we'd use it everywhere, but there is no way of doing that. There are special pads one can put inside the engine block to dampen the vibratory sounds, but that still doesn't silence the engine itself, and they tend to create other problems, especially when they fall off and get inside of the engine itself, which can cause considerable damage.

If you want to go silent, you don't use a Valkyre, simple as that.

There are other ways, however. Whilst silencing the Valkyre is an option we can't take, as we have no time to modify it and even then we don't have what we'd need to dampen the sounds, we could make other sounds to distract them, something which appears to be a natural phenomena, an earthquake for example. Again, that's not a safe option, as we'd have to make one with a hellish magnitude to make the sounds high enough to make a Valkyre seem silent, which will endanger any men we've got on the surface.
