Hello! New to the forums, thought I'd start off with an Army List.

Okay. Turns out my non-mecha Imperial Guard made me cry. After some serious reworking of fluff (which, thankfully, was still in my head) I decided to include mecha. Next, I'll work on writing up some fluff (in both informative and narrative form).

HQ:

Inquisitor Lord (Self-proclaimed Colonel-Inquisitor Vladimir Marenus, Callsign Alpha-Alpha)
Power Armor, Bolt Pistol, Thunderhammer
Chimera Transport (Multi-Laser, Heavy Bolter)

Retinue:

3x Acolyte, laspistol and Close Combat Weapon
2x Mystic
1x Gun Servitor, Heavy Bolter

IG HQ:

Junior Officer, Honerifica Imperialis (Callsign Beta Alpha)
Commissar
Veteran + Standard
3x Guardsmen

Troops:

Infantry Platoon Gamma
Junior Officer
Heavy Bolter
Grenade Launcher
1x Guardsmen

G/ Squad 1:
Missle Launcher
Plasma Gun
8x Guardsmen

G/ Squad 2:
Missle Launcher
Plasma Gun
8x Guardsmen

Infantry Platoon Epsilon:
Junior Officer
Heavy Bolter
Grenade Launcher
1x Guardsmen

E/ Squad 1:
Autocannon
Plasma Gun
8x Guardsmen

E/ Squad 2:
Autocannon
Plasma Gun
8x Guardsmen

Infantry Platoon Zeta:
Junior Officer
Heavy Bolter
Grenade Launcher
1x Guardsmen

Z/ Squad 1:
Autocannon
Plasma Gun
8x Guardsmen

Z/ Squad 2:
Autocannon
Plasma Gun
8x Guardsmen

Armoured Fist Squad Eta
Autocannon
Chimera Transport (Multi-Laser, Heavy Bolter)

Heavy Support:

Leman Russ (aka Squad Theta)
Hull Heavy Bolter

Leman Russ Demolisher (aka Squad Iota)
Hull Heavy Bolter

Point Total: 1499
Model Count: 98 (I think. Notoriously bad at simple calculations)

What do you think?<!--IBF.ATTACHMENT_88467-->

2 simple things I would change in this list.

1. give your inquisitor "Emperor's Tarot"

2. get a Callidus Assassin.

How exactly do you plan on killing tanks? With 2 ML's and 5 AC's? I don't think so.

Agreed. Your anti-tank is weak, though the basic concept isn't bad. Also agreed that when you take an INQ in a guard army, Emperor's Tarot is mandatory. Also, what exactly is the purpose of your Inquisitor? If he is a close combat roadblock, he needs a much better bodyguard -- try a squad of Grey Knights or well tricked out Warriors (though with the evocative title and his wargear, he gives of great mental images.)

Your platoon-wave approach without Drop Troops is unusual, since it dramatically lessens your mobility -- have you considered that doctrine? I usually go for a two platoon, two armored fist or stormtrooper in chimera, two tank, and one or two mobile elements -- gives the opponent too much to worry about while preserving 4-6 lascannons.

Please post the background when you're done with it -- sounds interesting.

Hey there! Thank you all for your feedback, let me get organized here at work, and I'll post some responses.

Thank you, Brother Adso... nice to have a little encouragement.

For some narritave fluff, you can go here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/CommunityForums/tabid/56/forumid/9/postid/190531/view/topic/Default.aspx , and comments appreciated. I'll be posting a rough-and-tumble summary for those who don't like narrative explanations, at some point.
