No clue what roles it will play (ARchmage is presumably the healer/ranged DPS class).

I think you mean 3rd class for the high elf race.  In the podcast they show that it will be a heavily bow focused class, with the option to be really really good with a bow only, and sucky at meelee, or a more balanced good with bow and good with swords as well.  There is no option to be great with swords and ok with the bow however.
