Not planning on running a warboss on a bike, and I am out of good ideas. I even thought about taking a min squad of burnas and upgrading 3 meks for kustom mega blastas. Its too bad they ruined tank busta boyz this codex.

There are no good options. I listed them all on the 3rd page of the Tatica thread.
You basically just have to lay enough S8 fire into the target or hope to get lucky with one of the random weapons (Zzaps, SAG or get lucky and roll the wierdboy Zzap power).

If you think about it, a warphead has a 1/3 chance of getting the zzap power. Thats the same as if he was shooting a weapon with his BS2. I just found this a little funny.
Their are S9 and S10 weapons available, the problem is that we just can't bring them en-mass like SM can with Lascannons or Tau with Railguns. We either get 1 or 2 shooty weapons, or everything else is done in HTH.

I'm going to rely on the hth. A nob with a klaw has 5 S9 attacks on the charge.
It's not great, but it's about all we have.
I dug through the tank shock rules with a fine tooth comb hoping that technically a battlewagon could tank shock AV14, even if it couldn't move it, (and then hit it with D6 S10), but alas, no luck.

Your shooting options from top to bottom vs. AV14
Warphead is actually a great choice for this. Removing the need to hit from that roll is huge. Under 18" this is one of the top performers in the game for 12-18" AV14 busting (BETTER THAN BROADSIDES) per point. Now, finding a mob he can run with that doesn't mind shooting at his target? I got nothing for you there. Weirdboyz without the upgrade performed only slightly worse per point.
And surprisingly, the Zzap crew is almost equivalent in results per point to a 6 man lasplas tacsquad. Better actually, I was including the price of ammo runts without giving the benefit in my calcs.
So: 3 Zzap guns, Runtherd, 3 ammo runt, 6 more crew > 6 man Lasplas for equivalent cost.
And, Tankbustas are also on par with tanks destroyed per point of shooting with a 6 lasplas.
TL Rokkits on the various platforms place under tankbustas.
The shock attack gun is terrible for it. Even assuming a 50% hit rate in my calcs, it came out 1/3rd of a lasplas squads output. Don't use it for this!
I haven't looked into melee. There's too much variation between klawing a stationary Russ to a skimming monolith to do concisely.

Do Orks still get those Fast Attack gun trucks? Because those are great for shooting the sides w/ TL Rokkits. Facing 3x Land Raiders they're not that great against Orks (offence wise, if not in terms of grabbing objectives, which Orks are also not lacking) and swamping them under with Power Klaws should at least come out even.
But yeah little reliable S9/S10/Melta sucks.

I can give ya the stats without the points. Just assume they are nearly the same cost.
The usual format here, assuming 1 shot lasplas:
(.66 to hit x .16 to glance x .16 to destroy) + (.66 hit x .16 pen x .50 destroy) = ~.074 (so like about 7.4% chance to destroy an AV14 vehicle per shot)
For Zzzap, first you'll need to work out the odds for achieving the strength:
St 10 from 6/36 results = .166
St 9 from 4/36 results = .111
St 8 from 5/36 results = .133
You work the different shots by adding their outcomes together.
(.166 S10 x .5 hit x .16 glance x .16 destroy) + (.166 S10 x .5 hit x .33 pen x .5 destroy) = ~.016
(.111 S9 x .5 hit x .16 glance x .16 destroy) + (.111 S9 x .5 hit x .16 pen x .5 destroy) = ~.006
(.133 S8 x .5 hit x .16 glance x .16 destroy) = ~.002
Sum those cases for ~.024 or approximately 2.4% chance to destroy an AV14 vehicle per shot. Course you get 3 shots for the cost of that one lasplas team, and you get 3 rerolls to boot. At the end of all these, I would divide the % chance to destroy the vehicle by the point cost of the unit. This is how I achieved the rankings from my previous post.

Oh right, you can't just add the 3 shots together because there can only be one vehicle destroyed result, so we have to take each shot assuming the one before it has happened already.
So 2.4% first shot does it, 97.6% chance it doesn't
2.4% of that 97.6% chance the second shot does it. So 2.34% chance there + 2.4 for 4.74% success of 2 shots, 95.26% fail.
2.4% of that 95.26% for shot 3. 2.28% + our 4.74% from shot 1 & 2 = 7.02% for all 3. To the marines 7.4%.
I did not include ammo runts still. Just modify the hit rating up to .75 if you wish to see those stats.
