I can login fine from any location.
If I login at Site A, then login later on at Site B, I have to re-login when I return back to Site A.
I assume logins are cached in the data base and read off the cookies to detect sessions? Is it possible to set it up so I can keep me logged in no matter which site I am at? (ie keep me logged in at work and home)

I am afraid we need to leave it this way as a security precaution. One of the main exploits of forums is getting the login cookie from other users, then pretending to be them. We have some code in place that will detect when someone tries to do this and will protect you from these types of hacks, but the cost is you cant be logged in from two machines at the same time. The only workaround would be saving your login details in firefox and have it autocomplete the login form for you, and bookmarking the login form in your browser as your starting page for dakka.

I figured as much, my work comp is locked down, as is my home PC so it's no problem for someone like me... but I know how this can have an effect on shared PCs.
Although for most users it's not an issue, it's really important for staff.
thanks for the clarification.

Well that's annoying. I use this place at work and at home. Having to log-in constantly is annoying.

Ugh. So that's what it is.
Is there a form I can sign so I can be exempted from such silliness?
It's annoying as hell.

If you are not using a shared computer and dont mind using bookmarks then there is a way around this. Simply bookmark the following URL:
replacing YOUR_USERNAME and YOUR_PASSWORD with your real username and password accordingly. This will automatically log you in on the new machine as soon as you access it. In firefox you can bookmark a URL like this by going to Bookmarks - Organise Bookmarks - Add New Bookmark.
If you go to that URL it will automatically redirect you to the forums so going to the URL first then bookmarking the resulting page will have no autologin effect - make sure you bookmark the specific URL.
