I want to do a slaanesh themed defiler and replace all the limbs with slaaneshi type claws and whatnot. I can use the greater deamon arms for the four close combat weapons (would those actually be large enough?) but what would be large enough to use as legs? I guess I could then buy two sets of the greater deamon legs, but again would they be large enough? The forge would stuff would be perfect, but buying that model just to tear it apart is out of the question. If I bought it I'd just end up assembling it and painting as is. Does forge world sell bits?

Oh man, duh, I can use carnifex and hive tyrant sprues. Hopefully I can just buy the sprues I need rather than having to buy 4 hive tryants / carnifexes to do my two defilers.

I have like 6 old carnifexes and 3 old hive tyrants. I'm going to try and use those to match this up. The claws were large enough but the legs might be way too small.

Maybe I can use some kind of dragon bits from fantasy? Is there a new manticore that might have a giant stinger?

The starship tooper tanker, thorny tanker, or king tanker might have legs that are big enough. Does anyone know if they would be a good match? Can I even order starship troopers bits?

Also I never play tournements. Are there any non GW models I could adapt?


Edit: I think I've got a way that will work, use the first part of the normal leg, then from each one extend two of the old carnifex claws as legs. Then use the new carnifex crushing claws and scything claws as the close combat weapons, maybe work a giant sword of some type in there.

Um, you've really got your work cut out for you.

I own both models, and the Defiler is a huge kit, while the Great Daemon of Slannesh is consideraby smaller. The GDOS limbs are the size of a pencil. The Defiler limbs are twice the diameter.

The FW kit is larger, but I don't think it's big enough to mesh well. You might do best to start your conversion in another direction.
