Howdy
Now I was wondering, alot of Chaos soldiers (Most of them in fact) seem to be Humans.
I was just wondering do Chaos not have the ability to corrupt other races? I thought Orcs and Goblins would be easy enough to corrupt, with just their lust for fighting and strength.
I also find it strange that civilians of the Empire get corrupted and join Chaos from all that way away from the Empire's major civilizations.

Any thoughts?

Greenskins don't consider Chaos to be "Natural" and don't generally go for it.

as for the rest of the races... Skaven are a Chaos race.. but have their own army... Beastmen are Beastmen... Dwarves and Elves are not played very much...

so that leaves Humans...

What? That statement... doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me...

There are actually a lot of humans in the far North- the Kurgan, Hung, Norse, and other tribes are all up North and see the Chaos gods as the only real gods.

My guess with Orcs is that it's hard to corrupt a race that pretty much already has what it wants- a fight any time they feel like looking for one. Which is most of the time. I guess too simple minded to really get 'tempted' very much.

The Elves have the Dark Elves who on occasion ally with Chaos, and certainly have their pleasure cults. Chaos Dwarfs exist, but are rare, created from a cataclysmic series of events far in the past. I believe there's reference (possibly for the Runesword) in the Chaos Army book about a Dwarf runesmith forging weapons for Chaos.

Just a summary of my thoughts on the matter...

“It was in lands of the Chi-An where she finally ran him to ground. There she kissed him deeply as he lay dying, and so stole from him his last, agonized breath.

On a delicate chain at her throat, she keeps it with her to this day.”

Every race in the Warhammer world has had at least a small number fall to the temptations of Chaos. Due to Humans being the most numerous species, and rather weak willed, they make up the vast majority of Chaos followers.

Not so, Lizards don't swing that way.

Only now do I realize how much I prefer Pete Haines' "misprints" to Gav Thorpe's "brainfarts." :Abadabadoobaddon

as far as I know, Chaos Dwarfs were important at some point...

and Undead are already pretty powerful beings, so they wouldn't need them.

Ogres fall prey to mutation very often...

I guess with tht we covered pretty much every race there is in fantasy. except lizards. hmm...no chaos lizards....now that would make an army theme.

Slaan can be tainted by Daemon's corrupting the points they meditate on, if the old fluff still stands.
