well sort of, I went and ordered my ork spearhead from my local GW and was then given a free £10 voucher for january. I was told for every hundred quid spent between now and Xmas you get a voucher.

Honestly I'm just glad that they are starting to offer price breaks for bulk buys.... well kinda

They have the same thing here in Aus. If you spend $200, you get a $20 voucher. When you look at it, it is a 10% discount. Nice.

I bought a Venerable Dreadnought, Command squad, and Box of Termies (like I needed any more!!! Over 100! lol ).

With the voucher, I bought some Green Stuff and some paints. Thankfully I got the green S. When I got home and started on the Dread, I realised I needed it.......

Anyway, yeah, it was a nice surprise to wander into my GW store to buy the last of items for my tyranid horde and be greeted with a $20 voucher. Makes starting that ork army a little more likely.

Not a ton of GW support in Texas. I'm pretty much subjected to the whims of GW. I miss the days you could buy models from the web a a steep discount.

Heh. Buying straight from GW, but GWUS, has given me a near 50% discount compared to prices here in Oz.

If I order from somewhere like Maelstrom where shipping is free, it becomes even better.

Shame it's in the run-up to xmas. I might have bought something in the new year.

A few weeks back, and in the months before, the Australian Dollar was sitting between 85 and 92 US cents, the highest it has been in my living memory. That meant that, converting to AUD$, for example, an Immortal in a blister pack that costs AUD$18 here would be AUD$11 if I bought it from the US. That's nearly a 40% discount.

Other things, like Battleforces. They're AUD$150 here, so around US$138 at the time. They're US$90 in the US. I'd save US$48 by buying them overseas.

A place like Maelstrom Games, which is a UK based online retailer, the price would usually be a couple $US more, but occasionally fell below, but would work out even better than ordering from the US becuase they don't charge for shipping. Same thing with the Baneblade. AUD$160, so at it's best conversion, around US$147.20. But it's US$95 through the GWUS online store.

The last thing I bought in Oz were some craters, and the new Commissars, but other than that, why would I buy stuff in Australia?

If you use your card between December 26th and I think it's January 20th (have to check that date, may end earlier) you get an additional $5 off any purchase of $30 or more.

Seems pretty appropriate to me that the American deal has provisos, red letter dates, addendums, restrictions, and requirements. It just wouldn't be capitalism if a 'deal' wasn't needlessly complicated...

The drawback to your plan is of course having to enter Mind Games to buy anything. Now I expect a certain amount of idiotcy in any game store, but the regulars at MG have really stepped up lately. Now I've shopped and played there, but after the last couple of visits. I'm not certain I'll ever go back.

I get 10% off at my FLGS everyday.

When I go back to visit my parents, my former FLGS usually has 25% on Boxing Day.

It's awfully hard to get excited about these, especially since they require you to redeem then in less than a month.

Man HBMC that sucks. Even here in Switzerland we have better prices than you. I thought Australia was cheap. We only pay 130Francs for a Battleforce:
130CHF = 113USD
so we pay 23USD more. not nearly as bad. Though imo sitll outrageously overpriced.
If only the dollar would rise again. Then we might be buying stuff for cheaper than in the states.

The Canadian dollar and US dollar have been been virtually on par for at least a couple months, but I still get to pay $28 for the new Chaos Terminator Lord, while my neighbours to the south get it for $20. :(

The GW prices are nice when the dollar is strong. But when it weakens it gets really annoying.
