I thought about trying this out the next game I play, just to see how something along these lines would do. It may be a little too cheesy, with the two SAG meks and 3 cheap ordinance wagons, but it might be fun to see. The Dreds and shoota boyz would force a center, the lootas on the far flanks, the SAG meks on the near flanks, and the wagons spread out depending on cover to hide since their armor is pathetic. The kopta is just for grabbing objectives and what not.

Any thoughts? Dumb idea? Just not fun to play against?

How many points is it?

Not really sure the dreads serve a purpose at all. They seem like dead weight to me. Be better as more boyz or more fast attack or armor in this list.

Oops, forgot to add that it is 1500 points.

I like the dreds since they provide some CC protection for my army and they can help block LOS when I need it. But I suppose another unit of boys and maybe some PKs might be a better bet.

Dreads aren't CC protection for any army.

If you want to block LOS, get fast trukks and stick them in dev squads face. Works much better.

The SAG is a POS, by the way. At 1500 points I'd take 1 HQ only.

Agreed.

Worth trying. What about killa-kans?

Assuming that POS means "piece of s***", i dont`t agree.
It can be usefull from turn one, is easy to use, has IC, Has the rare orken DS2...
But thats nothing you don't know, right?
So, i'm interested how you specify your opinion.

As the army is lumbering, I'd add a fast attack unit like Stormboys with their speedy flight. A large mob can take on (almost) every enemy unit in the game.

The SAG misses alot.

That's my problem with it.

KFF, well, it always works.

I think it adds more to an Ork army.

A KFF would go along way protecting your shooty elements, thus making the shooting not just a joke to a heavy template army if there is limited cover. Also allows you to take advantage of the best firing lanes, even if that means putting them out in the open! Unfortunatley with the looted wagons pathetic av 11 its a high priority target easily dealt with. I dont have the pdf open, but cant you buy 3 buggies with twin linked rokkit lanuchas for roughly the same points? The orks can be shooty, but they arent going to get the job done there. My list is similar to yours, 2 full loota squads and 2 20 man shoota squads, but then I change it up with a 15 man squad of stormboyz with zagstuck (for the fearlessness) 2 trukk boyz squads, and a warboss on a bike. The assault part of my army can end up winning it for me by itself.

warhammer 40k mmo. If I can drive an ork trukk into the back of a space marine dread and explode in a fireball of epic, I can die happy!

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Lootas and Shokkmeks work. I saw it destroy a Deathwing army in two turns while the troops were advancig. I saw same outshoot shooty marines, again thetroops sdidnt do much except advance and fire the odd rokkit.

SWhat I dont like is the rest of the list. You have Av, but not enough to overwhelm anti tank, you have orks, but not enough to survive lasgun and bolter fire, you have a few klaws but not enough to get there.

You have an infantry core to your army with the lootas and shokkmeks. Capitalise on that by adding more greenskins over everything else. place your trust in troops - shootas, stormboys. If you want to toughen this with HS get Kans.

Kans are prey to autocannon, but enemy autocannon and equivalents will be aimed at your lootas.

If you want shooty battlewagons you should have three killkannon and minimum 'driveby' nobz in 4 big shoota transport wagons. More Av14 than the enemy could possibly cope with. KFF meks plus troops dreds for extra Av.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.
