I just like the conversion possabilities, and think at 6 points each they could be somewhat competative. My question is are they alowed in gw sponsored tourneys. Someone told me they came out for 3rd edition and are not legal now. Is this true or is there a faq allowing them. Keep in mind they are on the tau page on the gw website, I dont think they would have the rules for them there still if they werent useable with there 4th ed codex.

Subject: Re:Tau human auxiliries legal in tourneys?
You can not use Tau human auxiliries in the 2007 Grand Tournaments or Games Day tournaments. The rules for the 2008 circuit aren't out yet. But smaller tournaments are at the discretion of who ever is running the tournament. Just ask beforehand if they don't give you a list of approved armies.

I've seen firewarriors modeled as humans. You might try that tack to avoid an issue. Humans with some sort of carapace armor with tau weaponry is not bad.
