I've got 10 Points left to spare and no where to spend it!

The sad part about this list is that it does not use the Warboss on bike that I am so particularly fond of using. To add him in here I have to drop a lot of things that I'm just not comfortable doing to be blunt about it. He's good no doubt, but then I'm not taking all those Lootas, or the Snikrot Mob, or the Storm Boyz. Granted I could drop any one of those things and add in the Boss on Bike + some Dethkoptas, but I'm not seeing a whole lot of a reason to add him other than being a bonus vs Nidzilla and Monoliths.

Any thoughts on the list without the Boss? He's been so central to my army ideas that I feel that going without him I'm losing something more than I can quantify? Am I too attached to the model I made up for him and am thus irrational or should I just look at dropping some things to make room?

I would build him and the koptas, and test variations of the list swapping them in in place of either the kommandos or the storm boyz.

You'll probably find that the actual testing and the local metagame will establish for you which is the best combo.

bloody perfect mate.

Buy it, build it, paint it, and crush with it. I really think we are looking at a new top tier build here.

90 guys with 2 shots each T4 and 5+ invul.

24 guys putting out about 48 str 7 shots from a long long way away.

Kommandos to take out and tie up critical enemy units.

Storm boys for counter assault so your shootas don't end up bogged for the entire game.

Donate the remaining 10pts to your opponent, He's going to need them.

Try giving yourself the special character for your storm boyz. Sure he's dangerous to use, but when people play him properly he's much more dangerous to your opponent.

Remember, with TWENTY guys you can be 10" away from someone when you land, and STILL assault them.

With only 1 Stormboyz unit, I can only say mobile armies will light the unit up and kill it before it does anything--and on normal 5 piece terrain boards you'll have a hard time getting them across the board vs shooty static armies.

By the way, anyone charging into a 30 Ork mob isn't going to tie them up. That's a free assault move forward, man. lol

I think it's too few units, and too slow. You're going to have trouble with alot of objective missions because of it. Mechanized armies in objective games will pick on part of your army, and clear an area you can't move into fast enough and then beat you by one objective.

But having said that, it's solid, and you just need to make sure you adjust your tactics to realize you can't go chase down any objectives later in the game.

I completely agree on the too few units bit, there's only 4 PK's in the whole list!

But as you've said, running Mobz of 30 is the way to go for a number of reasons. Going on this, I'm starting to wonder how much better a KoS style list will be.

I would consider removing a troop unit for the warboss on bike and maybe a few koptas. You will have 35 orks (Kommandoes and Stormboyz) on the enemy right away and the 30-man boyz will be far away. Back up those first 35 with the warboss on bike. The koptas should have twin-rokkits and they can help with objectives/tablequarters at the end.

I would drop one group of 30, not only to fit in more fun things like warboss on a bike, but to give you less stuff to move every round. Your only going to make it to turn 4 in a tourney with that kind of force. Difficult terrain tests every round are headaches also.

Mine is similar, 2 full loota squads, mek with custom force field, a big shoota squad, 2 trukks with nob and p klaws and full group, 15 stormboyz with zagstuck for the fearlessness, warboss on a bike, 4 defkoptas for early tie up, and some grot lobbas, not because there fantastic (although against horde armies they are) but because I feel obligated to take at least one heavy support choice, and frankly our non transport heavy choices now suck horribly. Looted leman russ I will miss you.

Also technically the finalized book IS out now, can we still not post the points costs? Anyone who bought the spearhead had the option of buying it, so its confirmed somewhere.

I agree with the Boss on bike. Mobility and the ability to tie up shooty units with turbo boost. (Oblits, Devs, ect)

The Boss on a Bike was the one thing that saved you when you played against my Tau a few weeks back. Find a way to get him in there.
