Does it make sense to anyone that the new Ork Boyz plastic box costs 22$ in the US, 20€ in the EU, and 12£ in the UK?

20€ is worth 29.55$, or 14.96£.

12£ is worth 23.70$.

So, does anyone know the reason why GW miniatures are a lot cheaper in the US than anywhere else, and very expensive in mainland EU? The weak dollar doesn't explain the difference between the GBP and Euro prices. As a follow-up question, is there any reason I shouldn't order all my models from TheWarstore.com? Do they ship worldwide?

Umm... are those prices pre or post VAT?

Wait, I bought stuff in Europe last summer. IIRC, they must be pre-VAT. In which case I have no explanation to offer.

In germany, sales and all other applicable tax must be included in the retail price. The ork boyz cost 20 €, so that's the actual price we pay for 'em.

Isn't it usually the US that gets shafted with GW prices? Example: a Box of 5 Terminators costs 50 $ (plus Tax) in the US, 35 € (with tax already included) in germany.

Check out the Baneblad prices, I'm pretty sure US buyers save 10%, maybe more. Yes, they did used to get shafted (not as much as Oz, but still...). GW isn't doing well in North America atm though, right? Maybe that's the reason they've got a price break recently.

Why would they be pre VAT if the prices are from the online store's listing?

Anyway, Ork Boyz are 25.5% cheaper in the US than in mainland EU.

No one gets screwed more than Canadians. With the weak U.S. dollar I buy everything online and ship it here.

Ditto. I don't buy anything retail unless I have to (I'm desperate for more CoD buildings), or I have a voucher (like the one I'm using tomorrow!).

Everything I buy either is from GWUS, or from Maelstrom Games in the UK, as they do free shipping.
