Jean Bey, president of Rackham, has stated that the dice tins that were previewed at GenCon2007 will finally be released "Yes, specific army dices in tin boxes....In a few weeks!"
(These were originally scheduled to be released in November)

But thats not all. Actually the tins and dice are the most minor news (thankfully).

Jean Bey also stated that there will be a new campaign late second quarter of this year.

Source
"This Campaign will be a product boxed set, including scenery, few special miniatures, new gaming tiles, additional rulesbook which cover new tactics options, rules for playing these new miniatures in AT-43, rules for scenery, an optimization for using the existing attachment boxes in the game, rules campaign system, huge set of scenarios and lots more."

As well, plans that were stated before AT-43 was even released as far as army boxes are concerned will finally come to fruition as well.

"...we plan to produce all the missing models for the existing armies before (we produce the army boxes)."

Judging by how all armies except the Karmans have close to 80-90% of their models released (and according to the Karman release schedule, they are being fast tracked so that a sizable playable army can be fielded before doomsday) we may very well see army boxes in the not so distant future.

I see this as a very good sign for Rackham, as there hasn't been much official confirmation about the good health of their company after the whole near bankruptcy debacle.

Filling in holes for the existing armies, new stuff to play the game in easily accessible campaign sets (as opposed to the nearly mythical Cry Havoc mags), new licensing deals with secondary market companies such as GF9, possible new armies on the horizon...they may pull out of this yet.

So for Rackham the word campaign is the equivalent of
calling something an expansion set?

Anyone know what the dice themselves look like? Not that I'm not going to buy the Karman dice, but would still like to see them ahead of time.

Rumor has it they will be six-sided with some sort of indication of one thru six on each side.

What these cogs you speak of? I ALMOST like AT-43, but I just can't quite get into any of the factions. But a group called Cogs sounds awesome. Any ideas what they are about?

Yeah, because GW is soooo original.

As for the dice, there has been people ordering custom dice from Chessex that have the faction symbol on the "6" side.

I think they did that for the warmachine dice, if I am not mistaken. I would bet the same thing would be done for AT-43 dice.

Any news on Rackham's financial status? I recall they went into something legal involving protection from creditors a while ago, and that it had something like a 6-month window on it.

Man, I hope they make it. Such cool ideas- and I think they make the best prepaints out there. If they can dod ecent prepaint vehicles (more than walkers), I'll drop GW and buy in in an instant.

Wow... um, even the feet look Tau (well, Vespid) on that Cog. It's like a Vespid got it on with a stealth suit and this is the result.

Sweet, thanks. I really need to find a good forum on what you'd need to start AT-43. I hardly know anythign about it, which is odd, because I was a junkie for Rackham's metal figures for Confrontation.

The design looks to me like a knock off of this guy's spider tank project

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Technically that would be a derivative work if they did not get a licence from Rackham.

True, but the people who got them showed them off on the AT-43 site and even the people who work for rackham loved them.

Just goes to show you that not every game company has to viciously seek and destroy anything resembling a threat to their IP when a fan gets creative.

For the Baal golgoth concepts, I thought it resembled this more...

Yes... yes it does... I'm eagerly awaiting my starter box.

These dice look nifty, as does the spider walker CAD... but the Schick Spyder didn't inspire me so much, esp with the paint job.

Cheers

Sweet.

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil
