I'm having problems figuring out which faction I want to start in the near future. And with the news of Cogs coming down the pipeline, it's even harder to make a decision. I can't afford (yet) to buy them both ^_-, so I'm really at a fork in the road.

My rulebook should be here later this week, so I'll have a lot better an understanding of the game mechanics once I get to sit down and read through it. Which should give me a bit of a better idea what sort of army I want to try and manipulate into winning games ^_^. Well, at least into not losing too badly.

On one side, I really like the idea of apes in armor busting skulls. On the other, I really like the idea of lots of (red) troopers busting skulls for the blok.

Karman would mean less money out of pocket which would be a good thing. Blok would give me access to way cool vehicles.

I've played heavily armored troopers in 40k to death (SM's), and I feel like a change. But..Apes in Armor!

Confused. Help.

I am HIGHLY loyal to the proletariat, but I may have to suggest karmans.

Red Blok have been quite expensive for me, as I have...quite...alot.

I am thinking Karmans will not only be considerably cheaper to buy, but easier to make assault/reinforcement splits with.

The split is no small thing, as the closer you get to the max, the better off you are. (just as in any wargame that is points based).

Red Blok too have a heavily armored group think. Dont let all the plebeians fool you, type 3 soldiers play an integral role in the game that isn't as easily filled with the type 2 or type 1 soldiers.

The Karmans strengths are an inordinate amount of firepower. Tons of it. But they are easily out numbered and it makes it hard for them to hold objectives without hurting the bejesus out of the enemy first. Thats a slippery slope, as they can also do the same to you by the time you get to hold an objective as well.

The red blok strength is their high armor, and an obscene amount of firepower as well, especially indirect fire weapons (which still need LOS), as well as numbers.

It seems it takes some finesse to use red blok right considering what I have heard. I haven't had the same problem, as the people here seem to think there are cheese incarnate as I haven't lost with them yet.

I dont know if any of that helps ya.

maybe you might consider joining the AT-43 forums for a bit more varied advice since dakka community is rather small for AT-43 (and I am sure everyone is quite tired of me piping in with my fanboisms for everything AT-43 related here on dakka).

Finally got my rulebook today. First time ordering from the Warstore. I'm rather happy with the service ^_^. I'll definitely be ordering from them in the future.

I'll be stuck with my nose in this bad boy the rest of the day...more to follow in the coming days I'm sure.

I am thrilled with the Warstore's service. They sent me a wrong set(a 2nd Anakongas instead of Anakonga Attachment). Not even 24 hours later, Neal has the correct box out to me.

I've read through all of the fluff in the main rulebook and started to make decisions between my main two ideas for an army. This thread has clinched it for me.

For the Collective!
